So this would work with the new ASRock and the AMD A4-3400 http://www.ebay.com/itm/IR-Receiver-w-Cable-CIR-MB-MCE-Back-Lit-Remote-/330581178980?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf82c7a64 - voip-ninja - 2011-10-03 rufrothy Wrote:Hmm.... That is great, as I just found out that the Asrock motherboard has a CIR but does not come with the remote. What I am more interested in is this; http://asrock.com/mb/spec/Card.asp?Model=Smart%20Remote It uses an external USB IR unit (that plugs into a USB port and the CIR header via internal cabling) rather than having to drill your case. I just need to find a place I can buy it from and I need to make sure it will work with XBMC. Keep us posted how this works out. - eskro - 2011-10-03 voip-ninja Wrote:I just need to find a place I can buy it from and thats the hard part,,, better to get a motherboard that comes with it by default,,, - voip-ninja - 2011-10-03 rufrothy Wrote:Cool. Keep us posted how this works out. Will do. I emailed tech support to see if they knew how I could get it. I found an internal USB header on eBay that is about $28 shipped so that will be my backup option if ASRock cannot hook me up. - bluray - 2011-10-03 voip-ninja Wrote:Will do. Thanks! I did inquire as to how I could get this. All I really need is their USB IR unit and then just wire that USB port to the CIR/USB headers on the case. I already have a Harmony One. I would also imagine there are some ASRock owners who do not use the CIR unit at all, so I have inquired on Tweak Town's ASRock forum about anyone willing to sell it to me. - blackbango - 2011-10-03 eskro Wrote:The Power ON and OFF feature seems so wanted in the HTPC market nowadays... They will provide the USB CIR receiver for only $8 which includes shipping. Rather glad now that I did not spring for an extra $50 for a higher end motherboard that included it. I'm not sure if it will work with other, non ASRock motherboards but $8 is a heckuva lot cheaper than anywhere else for this thing. - blackbango - 2011-10-03 Subliminal Aura Wrote:I see a lot of talk on ocuk about these ... why don't you get stuffed and go back there Well erm...... thanks for the welcome I think. - eskro - 2011-10-03 voip-ninja Wrote:I just heard back from ASRock support in Chino, California.
