There is the possibility that if your connecting to a local service remotely, or connecting locally, but using a remote address (i.e: dyndns service) that your connection could be snooped. the http protocol will send your username/password info in cleartext format, so it's better to use an encrypted (https) connection if it's available. The amount of risk depends on your level of paranoia I guess.

Wink

I'm not particularly paranoid, but I recently lost root access to my server box, so was wondering what might have caused it. The box (a cubox) is only there for maraschino et al, so nothing serious lost. I might do https from now on though.

Is that about the only thing I can do easily? Not too fussed about making it fort know etc...
Thanks

Only forward ports through your router to your server that you absolutely need access to remotely is the best course of action. Aside from this and using https where possible combined with a secure password are the best courses of action.

Great update, thank you for your continued work!

The latest update has broken the SB,CP and Sab modules. Now SB doesn't even show. CP only says 'There are no movies in your wanted list.' and the Sab just says 'There was a problem reaching SabNZBd.'

The log file only shows a problem with connecting to CP and nothing about the problems with SB and Sab.

I made no changes to any other apps, just updated Maraschino.

Even tried reinstalling Maraschino with the same results.

Huh

Anyone else having issues with the latest update of Maraschino?

Since recently the picture section of XBMC is greatly improved. Is it an idea to have a (recently added) picture widget in Maraschino? Maybe with a slideshow player?

Sorry for the late reply, but with a lack of a picture library and/or JSON API support this will not be achievable as of yet.

Thanks. I will post in this topic once this PR gets in, probably after Frodo.

Maybe it's an option to first embed a slideshow player which can connect to sources and later on make it json and xbmc library compatible? What kind of player would suit marachino best? Python or maybe html5 or other ways?

Everything working fine here. In the log you are getting a html error are you sure there are no routing issues within your network? Sabnzbd was not touched in the latest update, so if there was any problem sabnzbd would not have been effected.

It would be technicly possible to add pictures to files mode in library module. Maraschino does all its communication with external sources (XBMC, sickbeard and so on) server side via python. We then use ajax calls to get the data client side. There is a jquery lib (rcarousel) that could be used to display the images in a slideshow or carousel.

I can't seem to add disks to the Disk Space module any more. I managed to at least punch in some disk locations when I first tried it, but since then all I see is a black bar with "Disk Space" on it and then the settings and close icons on the right. The settings icon only lets me adjust things lik Poll Frequency.

I figure I need to reset something. I looked it up and someone suggested I delete the maraschino.db file - but I'm using the Synology packaged Maraschino and I can't access the appropriate folder to be able to delete app related files in the main Synology OS interface.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem. Using ubuntu 12.10.

That's odd, it is working better than ever on my unRAID server. I was able to add each disk and then it created a pool, I had been adding the symlink to all of the disk to see the whole amount free.

Finally got around to looking into the issue and found deleting the Maraschino database fixed the issue. I was able to recreate the connections and the new ones showed properly. When I previously reinstalled Maraschino I kept the database, so there must have been something corrupt in there.

Not sure if I missed this in the forum, but is it possible to track more than one uTorrent instance in Marachino? Once I add on utorrent, it no longer shows this as an option when I click add new widget. Is there a way around this?? I have more than on uTorrent open on my host computer due to category issues and would love to be able to see both!

Loving this front end. So convenient!!
