Accessing SMB results in "Invalid argument" - shadd22 - 2011-11-18 I've been having this problem for a while and thought I would try and see if anybody may have some suggestions. I run all my media through a connected CAT5 network connection to the Mac Mini. Normally when bringing the Mini out of sleep mode, attempting to access an SMB Share from a file view source or even from a library source results in XBMC not finding the network the first time, then locating it directly after tying again. Normally this brings up an error message saying "Invalid argument". I've ran this through with debug log on and the main area I believe this may be happening looks something like this: Code: 19:38:47 T:2696811840 M:1358409728 DEBUG: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory (smb://NETSERVE/DVR/DVR/Daily Show - Colbert Report (DVR)/) I've tried different naming conventions, SMB shares, however every time I get the same error message and blank screen initially, then perfectly fine afterwards. The OS is through Snow Leopard if that makes a difference. I've never really had this problem until the last 4-6 months and was wondering if this may be an issue with XBMC or a network issue I should address? Any thoughts or assistance would be welcomed. Thank you. - gollumscave - 2011-11-19 I am having the same problem. It was gone for a while but it popped up again 10 minutes ago after i've added some new movies. My configuration is: Server: Freenas 8.02 8Gbyte ram 24 Tbyte storage 1Gb LAN Player: Ubuntu server 11.10 XBMC Dharma I have solved this problem about 2 months ago by cutting my video library in half. (A-M) and (N-Z). The problem disappeared as soon as I did that. What can be the underlying cause? My library at the moment contains just 750 movies, i haven't added them all yet. Extra Info: I was updating the library and during the update i wanted to browse in the filemanager. That's when it initially occured. The movies that are already in the library can playback fine, but updating the library also doesn't work now, it says "compressing library" after barely a second... |
