- ysbox - 2007-05-01

I have a commit pending since last week -making XBMC_PC compile again and relying of XBMC's wrapper network functions for dll's- but the latter still isn't working at all, therefore the sync will only happen with this next commit.

KingJames: sorry I don't know what to say, but that does not help... I was expecting an exception Sad

Yea, i figured it wasn't a compile issue, i think it has something to do with maybe the way its getting on the internet maybe my linksys wireless router, everything else works fine though, rss feeds, scripts , and internet lookups.

someone offered this solution, but i don't understand the steps.

""I had the same issue. If you are like me, you keep your UserData folder intact so you don't have to recreate your setings everytime. Because of the LinksBoks addition, the new UserData folder has a folder called "LinksBrowser". Copy that into your existing UserData folder. Works like a charm!!""

I Don't know, when i disconnect the ethernet cord from the xbox then try to start linksboks it doesnt freeze, but when i connect it freezes, if im not able to get it working i would to request to have linksboks be able to browse the xbox for saved webpages.

Search for the 'deff' build, try that. I've had no trouble with Links in the manner you describe.

- tstraub - 2007-05-08

KingJames whatever the problem is we share it. I compiled my own build yesterday same problem as the pimped version. if I unplug the eithernet cable it dose not lock up just like yours. I'm using a westell dsl modem/router, DHCP enabled, firewall disabled. I dont think its a router issue because I also have XDSL linux installed and it connects threw DHCP and pulls up web pages just fine.

Thanks i tried it, but i still have the same problem, i don't think its a compile issue. I heard maybe getting rid of all ur game saves might solve the problem but i never tried it..i did a softmod with the mechwarrior game , im not sure if that would mess up the whole mod..

I deleted the entire contents of the TDATA and UDATA folders. It started to load google then froze same debug log just stops at Loading skin file: WebBrowserSettings.xml

I got this message from somewhere else see if it works for you

""I had the same issue. If you are like me, you keep your UserData folder intact so you don't have to recreate your setings everytime. Because of the LinksBoks addition, the new UserData folder has a folder called "LinksBrowser". Copy that into your existing UserData folder. Works like a charm!!""

I am using the user data folder from links build.

- MacGyver - 2007-05-08

both "deff builds" worked great here on a 1.6 soft, a 1.1 tsop, a 1.5 aladin, and a 1.3 tsop, maybe has something to do with your display mode (thier hardcoded into the Webbrowser.xml, or something as simple as not having it set to DHCP, have you tried turning off all your other net based services, like ftp, and webserver? BTW, I use the xtv skin, are all of you using PM3?
It sounds funny, but have you tried renaming the WebBrowserSettings.xml to something else so it can't load?, granted the settings menu won't load, but from your logs thats where I would start, or try a different skin.
Maybe clear out your Z: drive (i believe links uses it for some caching)
