Running on a portable USB, Avatar played so smooth!

Any ideas how to resolve the issue across the network? Cat5 cabling btw

RE: Another External Player Code, but Very Simple to Setup - StartCodon - 2012-09-21

How long is the cabling? If it's not too long to be a hassle you might want to consider upgrading to Cat5e. Alternatively it could be your router/switch. Something like Avatar might hit 40Mb/s, and Cat5 cabling (and most consumer routers) only supports 100Mb/s, which doesn't give you a lot of room for overhead.

Cat5e (and Cat6, though that might be overkill) supports 1Gb/s, though then you might find your router becomes limiting.

Of course, it might be nothing to do with your network hardware, and more about how you stream something as large as a BD iso over a network (thus it being more software/config oriented).

Not a network specialist by any means, just putting some ideas out there!

For network, you can do some of the things in this link to optimize it- Use hidden Windows tweaks to speed up your Internet and network connections

What is your GPU?

You can try to download this- BD & 3D Advisor....it'll let you know what you are missing (softwares and hardwares have to support 3d for it to work)........

The screen shot below is ArcSoft 3d advisor from my PC.....as you can see, I don't have 3d HDTV for 3d.....

Anyone have any experience with DVDFab Media Player? Looks like it might be a decent alternative.

RE: Another External Player Code, but Very Simple to Setup - Bjur - 2012-09-25

Hi bluray. My config files won't allow me to have Totalmedia in front when I use playdisc which gives black screen and I have to manually shut down XBMC before I launch Totalmedia to get it working.
I have XBMC run in true fullscreen, so I'm hoping it can be achieved that way. I'm afraid of picture degredation if not in true fullscreen.

PlayBDMV:
@echo off
rem you can place your PlayBDMV file in \Roaming\XBMC\userdata\
set pth=%1
set pth=%pth:BDMV\index.bdmv=%

Playdisc:

Playiso:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre 5\uLaunchTMT5.exe" G:

Unfortunately, you do need to have XBMC in fullscreen window mode to have it work with external players for BD playback.

You need to do as what I suggested to StartCodon in his other thread- "Since you are sharing Apps (XBMC+TMT5), you need to enable "Use fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen" in XBMC system/system/video output".......and if you haven't done it, you can enable enable "DXVA2 and select DXVA as Render method and disable everything else in XBMC system/video/playback"......."

For PlayISO.bat, you can use the code below instead....

@echo off
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Elaborate Bytes\VirtualCloneDrive\VCDMount.exe" /d=0 %1
"C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre 5\uLaunchTMT5.exe" G:

If you want a more fluid (somewhat seamless) external player option, you can use {<args>"{1}"</args> and <hidexbmc>false</hidexbmc>} codes in playercorefactory.xml instead.....

RE: Another External Player Code, but Very Simple to Setup - Tyler Durden - 2012-09-26

I have followed the instruction in the first thread, and when I attempt to play a Blu Ray ISO file nothing happens.

If I close down XBMC and mount the image manually it will play fine on TMT. I have also tried editing the PlayISO.bat as you have above, but to no avail.

What am I not doing right?

My virtual clone drive is F: and both files are in the correct folder \Roaming\XBMC\userdata\

Thanks
Download the files below and save both files in \Roaming\XBMC\userdata\ folder. Launch XBMC and give it a shot....

-playercorefactory.xml
-PlayISO.bat

Hi can i ask how to add blu ray iso playback to these settings ?

Thanks

Robert

Sorry i had upgraded to nightly release and the files you gave me had been deleted put them back in and all working well

Thanks
