If anyone is using OSMC, I have added support for this to the OzWeather Skin Patcher (see wiki for instructions to install this).

Great add on ,have been using it for years!
Is there any chance the add-on can be fully supported in skin MQ9? its sort of working ,but shows the wrong year season and that cant be change manually.extended weather info doesn't work at all.

Well, I indeed don't set the season as it's not part of the standard Kodi weather info, but it would not be hard to add really. In general, I set all the standard Kodi weather labels (old versions and new, for maximum compatibility).
For the rest that is more MQ9 specific...it depends. If you're happy to develop some dedicated MQ9 XML skin files - that would be great, and I am happy to add the support for them to my skin patcher add-on (I presume you've tried that as it supports other Aeons like Nox Silvo, Tajo etc - if MQ9 is fairly similar, it might 'just work' already...)
To develop skin files, you could take the examples in my skin patcher for Aeon and likely it's a short amount of adaptation needed from there...
I can look at all this too, but am on Xmas break, so would not be till into mid January that I'd have much of a chance...

I kind of expected the patcher to run directly on Aeon MQ to be honest - it should run with any skin with 'aeon' in the addon id. Can you check the addon.xml and let me know what the ID is for it, then?

Thanks, I'll have a look at fixing it all up properly when I'm back from holidays, sometime in Jan. Looks like it won't be too hard to fix that up...

Tried to install Aeon MQ9, on two separate machines, and it just hangs on the first screen 'do not press any key' etc and just never does anything else.
Not really interested in supporting something so flakey really! Everything else works just fine on these installs including many other complex skins.
I'll give it one more try on my test bed once I am back at work but don't hold your breathe...

Yeah the install sometimes stall,just hit escape few times and it will work (even if it says do not press any key..).
If not ,don't worry too much,I managed to remove 'season' text from the main menu.I also use OzWeather 2nd Screen - its good-thanks!

I have submitted a PR to set the season (although I can't fix the skin's broken logic about this entirely as it has incorrect hard coded dates for the season boundaries).

Aeon MQ 9 Multi-Mod for Kodi v20 (Nexus) might work better for you:

Unless they have fixed this logic, it will never be quite right for Australia, as these are not the dates for our seasons:

...and that mod thing won't install at all, so honestly, I give up on this MQ9 trash for now, unless it miraculously works on my work test bed.

BTW the fixes to the skin files are likely very easy - just go in to your skin folder and find this file:
OzWeatherTweaks-aeon.xml
...open that in a text editor and muck around with the values (and potentially fonts, looking in fonts.xml for hints) - and reload the skin after each change to check the outcome. It should not take long to get it looking correct - once it looks right send me that file (and a screenshot) - and I can integrate it properly into the patcher, even without installing MQ9!
