Ember can only currently do the following if you want stacked movies to work

Apollo 13 (1995).CD1.avi
Apollo 13 (1995).CD2.avi
movie.nfo
poster.jpg
fanart.jpg

That will work, you don't need to use the file name in images or nfo if your movies are in separate folders.

But Ember will not do that, movie.nfo does not work when there is 2 movies (cd1 and cd2) in the folder. Ember does not save any .nfo to the folder.
When I select <movie>.nfo and <movie>.tbn it saves to the folder but XBMC does not read it as it's not the correct format.

Do you think I don't test stuff?

I never said select <movie>.nfo and <movie>.tbn doing that will include the file name also, in any case movie.tbn is not the correct image for frodo its be replaced by poster.jpg or <movie>-poster.jpg.

You need to select in ember

movie.nfo (not <movie>.nfo)
poster.jpg
fanart.jpg (not <movie>-fanart.jpg)

That will give you exactly the following named exactly the same as below

Apollo 13 (1995).CD1.avi
Apollo 13 (1995).CD2.avi
movie.nfo
poster.jpg
fanart.jpg

RE: New Home for Ember Media Manager (Official Thread) - huttdes - 2013-01-27

Just want to confirm I am getting everything I should be getting.

I think I am and maybe things I don't need as well.
Example for movies

Just scraped the original Exorcist.
This is my folder content

Exorcist, The (1973).mkv
Exorcist, The (1973.nfo
Exorcist, The (1973).tbn
Exorcist, The (1973)-fanart.jpg
fanart.jpg
folder.jpg
movie.tbn
poster.jpb
\extrathumbs

For a tv show I have

In the TV show folder I have
fanart.jpg
folder.jpg
seasonXX.tbn (for each season)
tvshow.nfo

In the season folder
0101 - episode name.mkv
0101 - episode name.nfo
fanart.jpg
folder.jpg

BTW: got the newest revision. Movies scraping great now. Thank you Dan Cooper!

You have lots of duplicate images

folder.jpg
movie.tbn
poster.jpg
Exorcist, The (1973).tbn

The above are all the same image, when you make your selection in ember your see all the images are under a certain category, Poster, fanart, etc, you only need one image from each category..

All you need for frodo is

Exorcist, The (1973).mkv
movie.nfo
fanart.jpg
poster.jpg

It should work if you have the following selected

If its still not working make sure you have recursive enabled on your movie source and also check you don't have "movie.nfo" checked under "Clean Files", Options > File System > Clean Files

Other than that I would do a clean instal of ember because as you see from the screenshot above it should be working

This is a fresh install, I only installed the latest version yesterday

This is the settings I have selected in Ember

OK guys today I noticed some differences between the poster scraping results in Ember and manual poster browsing on TMDB. I tested it on movie Casino Royale. I looked in the code to check out how Ember calls the API and noticed it still uses the old 2.1 API version of tmdb. When I use the new v3 API I get all the images (84) to that movie. With Ember 2.1 I only received like (50). I asked Travis about that and he stated that switching to the new v3 API is the way to go.

http://www.themoviedb.org/talk/510558fb19c2952146367a60

It also has some nice features like votes-information or language filtering.

I posted this also here:
https://github.com/bodrick/Ember-MM/issues/36#issuecomment-12756749

A wrapper for NET for the new API is available: http://wattmdb.codeplex.com/

Maybe Dan can take a look on this, I'm afraid I don't have the time right now Smile

@PogMoThoin

The only thing I see that's different from me is you don't have "Use Folder Name" and "Single Video" selected on your movie source, that could well be the problem.

I would enable those restart ember and try again.

Yeah, I figured that but never really knew for sure which it was looking for.
Question, isnt this program basically for XBMC.... if that is all we need then what is up with all the other options? Why do we even have them?
Suggestion, why not simply have a checkbox for 'XBMC Frodo' option that defaults to all of this....??

Follow up question... as for tvshows
DanCooper posted a few pages back about tv folder structure.
He mentioned a 'Season Specials' folder.
I've never done that before. Example the tv show 'Archer (2009)'
There are specials listed on TVDB that take place before season 1 and before season 3
I simply put those episodes in the season they preceeded and numbered 0001 - name 0002 - name
So I would have in this case a special in season 1... and 3 of them in season 3.

On a side note for my own dvd rips and other 'extras or specials' NOT listed on TVDB I put in a 'Season 0' folder and do it all manually with EMM. Enter all the info and make a thumbnail, fanart etc.
It was a while back and I can't remember if EMM set this up correctly of if I did it manually.
But my question is since TVDB has no numbering structure for specials (They are simply marked special for the number)... how do we know how to number these files?

Good catch, that could do it. I'll try that later and report back. Thanks for your patience

a question a bit off-topic...
how can i change the genre icons for the movies??
i'm only using "spanish" language..

thx

Yes you can. Under the Ember program dir there is a folder called images and within it there is the Genres where you can find all the images
There you can create all your pictures.
Then in Ember you can map the Spanish names in the genre field with the appropriate image name.

If you create great art for geners let us know if you want to contribute them Smile

Hoping it helps.
M

thx for the reply...
i'm gonna re-scrape my movies into english language, because i downloaded a set of genre icons (from this XBMC forum site) and i'm gonna use it.
all is gone well with the re-scrape ... then i'm using a new custom images ... actually default icons are ugly i think!.

thx again...

RE: New Home for Ember Media Manager (Official Thread) - AnalogKid - 2013-01-27

It would be nice if Ember were updated to support the new / recommended Frodo artwork file schema:

<movie>-poster.jpg
<movie>-fanart.jpg
<movie>-banner.jpg

<tvshow>-poster.jpg
<tvshow>-fanart.jpg
<tvshow>-banner.jpg
<episode>-thumb.jpg

and so forth.

Also, it shouldn't be forgotten that media can now support multiple types of artwork (eg Poster AND Banner) simulataneously,

The 'tbn' extension should be deprecated really, and it's not really recommended for the way forward (even though it is still supported for the moment).

RE: New Home for Ember Media Manager (Official Thread) - Randall Lind - 2013-01-27

I don't think Frodo cares about Ember because today I notice 5 TV shows with non English posters and 1 with none so it like downloaded it own and totally ignore folder on hard drive, It was easy to fix by pressing I and get artwork and manually picking the correct ones.

Ok, this is a bigger job than you think. I have nearly 900 movies. My movies have always been in big folders, so I've an .nfo named <movie>.nfo and artwork named <movie>.tbn (poster) and <movie>-fanart.jpg (fanart). I have since used Ember to move all these to separate <movie> folders with this .nfo and artwork moved by Ember to the folders.

How do i use Ember to rename <movie>.nfo to movie.nfo, <movie>.tbn to poster.jpg and <movie>-fanart.jpg to fanart.jpg? I do not have the time to go through 900 movies as I've got the best artwork collected already. Failing that, I'm going to see if i can figure to do this through command line, any help would be great.

Anyone else having an issue with the fanart downloader? My EMM only seems to want to download fanart in 300x169 resolution.

Used to work fine but has started doing this recently. Settings is still set to prefer Large sized fanart.
