RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - Baswazz - 2012-08-12 wsnipex: i did a clean install of Xbuntu 12.04 the iso on page 1. Installed XBMC xvba as explained. I only got a problem with .srt subtitles. They are flickering. Not all rows but most are. Some kind of stutter within the start and end time of each row. Video and Audio are fine. This did not occur with Ubuntu 11.10 Have you any idea what this can be? RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - guilmxm - 2012-08-12 (2012-08-12, 00:11).:B:. RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - fritsch - 2012-08-14 Good to see, no new error reports on the "final" Eden version :-) Greetings from Spain, btw. - two more days without real internet to go. RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - laric - 2012-08-15 Wsnipex any chance of you compiling the tested versions with pulseaudio support enabled? Or could you tell us how to do it ourselves? (Guess that would be a pain?) I want to run this version of xbmc on my laptop but I want pulse audio to work on it as well as I use the ubuntu desktop for other things on the lappy aswell. RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - wsnipex - 2012-08-15 sorry I cannot enable pulse, because then everyone would have to run pulse. Xbmc does not start without it, if pulse support was compiled in. RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - Baswazz - 2012-08-15 (2012-08-10, 16:19)guilmxm Wrote: Hi, Thank you for the tutorials you wrote! Did not know TVheadend 3.0 was out RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - guilmxm - 2012-08-16 Thanks! Glad you like RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - sankeytm - 2012-08-16 It seems that the "edit /usr/share/xsessions/XBMC.desktop" step is no longer required -- mine was already set up by default. RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - guilmxm - 2012-08-16 @sankeytm: You're right i noticed it too, i'd let it in my howto in case of, but the containt is the same and this step is useless, i'll correct RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - guilmxm - 2012-08-16 @laric: just for information you can easily keep pulseaudio on the same system running xbmc (moreover if you are using one with audio engine, xbmc-xvba or testing) To avoid issue and conflicts with pulseaudio, you should launch xbmc within a small shell script preceded by "pulseaudio -k" which will stop pulseaudio daemon before launching xbmc (to restart it after xbmc closed use pulseaudio -start) I've made a lot of tests with dekstop versions,if your xbmc sound config is fine (xbmc Will use Alsa) and if you stop pulseaudio before launching xbmc, everything is ok. Therefore for must users it's better not keep pulseaudio to avoid having to use this kind of thing RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - cirkator - 2012-08-16 What kind of audioproblems are you talking about? Because I run Ubuntu 12.04 64bit with gnome desktop and pulseaudio and i have no soundproblems (at least none i can hear) RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - guilmxm - 2012-08-17 Hi, For all i relay the information, seems catalist 12.8 is à available for Linux: http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551 Haven't tested yet! @cirkator: I had some cases, if audiopulse were started xbmc was unable to access to the sound device using alsa, in same config audiopulse stopped, no issue. That's an example RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - jaychamp - 2012-08-17 Thank you for this how to, everything went pretty smooth and I have to just one question(so far) How can I change to YCBCR 4:2:2? I looked through the aticonfig help but didn't find anything. RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - laric - 2012-08-17 Any of the missing pieces in the new 12.8 drivers that came out yesterday? I mean getting the DTS-Hd etc to work on AMD? RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - fritsch - 2012-08-17 @laric: No changes you would see while using it. It at least installs fine and no signature / control file hacks are needed anymore. The said, that suspend support did get a lot better - but i could make it hang within two tries ... not really what i expected. The good: I don't think they broke anything xvba related, Level51 hack and the like still work. |
