@Hotz87:
Could you pastebin the full log? From what i have seen now - i cannot even guess your version :-)
Which fglrx version are you running?

Could you retry (if you are at least on precise) with the 12.9 quantal (howto is some pages back). Please also check the amount of memory xbmc is using at this point.

What I have seen from the log: Your display seems to be running at 30hz and the movie is 23.98fps. That is not really a perfect match in general.

I have same issue, sometimes the passthrough device fails. Everything plays in slowmo. Normal sound is ok, but AC3 and DTS cause slowmo video. I don't use hdmi for sound, I have separate soundcard.

I'm on ubuntu 12.10 minimal with setup according to first post and testing build. Next time it happens I will turn on debug and check the log, not sure if this will help though, since going to audio setup just says error on passthrough device, so something is crashing that's causing it to fail.

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD Radeon/Fusion and Nvidia GPUs - fritsch - 2012-10-28

Check your sound settings:

Speaker Layout: 5.1
Boost Volume when downmix: check
Play Stereo on all speakers: not checked
DTS: check
AC3: check
DTS-HD: not checked
True-HD: not checked
LPCM: not checked
AAC passthrough: not checked

This could eventuall help to make the issue nearly disappear, but i have seen this issue myself some time before - but as I switched to optical, did not reproduce it since then, mmh.

If you can show "how to reproduce" (e.g. 2*mp3, 2*DTS, one time Transcode to AC3, DTS now fails) or something, that would be great.

It would be great, if we can debug this further - it is an upstream problem. They need to exactly know how to reproduce it.
Edit: Could you add your report into the AE linux thread, located here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=128298

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD Radeon/Fusion and Nvidia GPUs - KRA77 - 2012-10-28

My passthrough device now actually says null: in settings, but both AC3 and DTS still work fine.
My setup is as you listed

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD Radeon/Fusion and Nvidia GPUs - fritsch - 2012-10-28

Yeah AE is still worked on heavily, we cannot really do something about it, i also did not see any new commits in mainline master that changed something concerning AE, the thread listed above is the right place to discuss audio problems with AE.

Is there a way to automatically start with live tv in fullscreen after xbmc has started?
I want a behavior like a normal sat-receiver. It´s annoying to click on Live-TV and than on a channel. I want to see Live-TV automatically!

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD Radeon/Fusion and Nvidia GPUs - jannk - 2012-10-29

Speaking about LiveTV & PVR - when I pause live TV stream and start it few minutes later, it becomes very choppy. I'd say AMD Zacate Dual-Core E-450 with Radeon HD6320 should be able to record and play back a TV stream at the same time, hdd should not be an issue, I'd say ... could this be something wrong with my system?
I installed wsnipex testing iso v2 + updated to the latest 'stable' alpha (which I guess is 7)
thanks

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD Radeon/Fusion and Nvidia GPUs - fritsch - 2012-10-29

@m.bluemle:
Check the Live TV Playback Settings. There is one with "Playback of last channel when program starts" - set this to Yes.

@jannk:
Pause is not really supported and there is no official working solution to my knowledge. But you could provide logfiles (with debugging), perhaps it is a general misbehaviour, that can be fixed in a special way.

Sorry for my slow response fritsch, here is the full logfile http://paste.ubuntu.com/1315003/
The 12.9 quantal fglrx is installed.

Hard to tell. Is /Movies a network source? Could you copy on of the movies to your local drive and when this error reappears try to play the local file?

No its no network share its only a folder where i "link" all my movies from different harddrives into.
The strange thing is if the same happens with live tv "vnsi" and if i restart the fglrx modul everything is fine again.
I guess that my fglrx driver goes into a sleep mode or something and did not come up again correctly. But i have no idea how to fix this.

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD Radeon/Fusion and Nvidia GPUs - fritsch - 2012-10-29

@Hotz87:
I think you cannot fix it. Could you check the UMA size in bios? If it is less than 512 MB set it to 512MB if it is already 512MB try to set it to 1024MB and please report back if it makes change.

Just checked it, it was on 2048MB and i changed it to 1024MB but still no improvement. But it was worth a try, thanks :-)
