RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD Radeon/Fusion and Nvidia GPUs - danz0l - 2012-11-05

Will do UNi

I might update the nvidia graphics driver and see if that helps. Only seems to be an issue with Virtual Blank and to be honest this really only seems to effect the menus being fluid and smooth (slight jidder without), but nothing i can't live with for now.

Ironiically i never had any issues with VB on dharma live or my upgraded eden through dharma. So it could well be a XBMCuntu issue and not related to Frodo.

If i find a solution i'll post it here.

Code:
[   27.757974] init: Failed to spawn hybrid-gfx main process: unable to execute: No such file or directory

It seems to be fixed upstream
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

What hardware is this? Seems like an hybrid gfx issue?

@mike08:
Can you manually kill the xbmc.bin process? Please also paste your xbmc.log again with turning debug on before, let's see.

Xorg.0.log also looks a bit strange concerning the modes:
Code:
DISPLAY=:0 /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc-xrandr | pastebinit

@mike08:
Can you move your .xbmc out of the way and start with a new one - just for testing - you can move it back later.
Code:
mv ~/.xbmc ~/.xbmc-bak

I suspect a plugin to make problem. The log you are posting seems to indicate a clean xbmc shutdown... is this the correct logfile?

For testing purpose, also do:
Code:
sudo mv /etc/asound.conf /etc/asound.conf-bak
mv ~/.asoundrc ~/asoundrc-bak
sudo reboot

Retry

Your log does not indicate a "freeze" <- can you describe what you do and what you see?
Please also copy this file to your local hard disk for further testing.

from what I see without debug, it looks like you don't have "Adjust Refreshrate to match video: On"

That's a DON'T: DEBUG: Window Manager Name: Compiz
Never ever use Unity or any composititing WM.

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD Radeon/Fusion and Nvidia GPUs - fritsch - 2012-11-06

@mike08:
To quote the howto:
Quote:NOTE: Compositing window managers (e.g. compiz, gnome-shell) do not play well with XBMC
If you have issues, please first disable compiz. If you want unity you can try unity-2d.
