I need Apple atv 1st gen display help - motor86 - 2011-12-19

Hello folks, I have a jailbroken apple tv 1st gen atv flash with boxee and xbmc installed. I am using xbmc and viewing movies on it using uPnP and grabbing my cpu's media library. I have played with the library view options of the left of the library screen to list view, thumbnail view ect. My question is how can I view the library in that cinema type view like plex with the screenshot in the background and the scrolling dvd box postes and the info box? Also how do I tranfer movies to the xbmc internal library on the apple tv

AnythingHuh

I've never actually used Plex, so I don't exactly know what you are referring to, but have you looked into installing alternative skins? Transparency, for example, does a great job of emphasizing the artwork of the show.

UPnP sharing doesn't work with Library mode. You'll have to use SMB or something else.

Okay, so I will try smb. I have a windows pc, so when it says username and pass in the smb setup on the xbmc on apple tv do I put my user and pass that I use to connect the Internet or the user and pass for my home share media network(which is open and not pass protected

If it's not password protected then you can leave those fields blank.

SMB is how you get better displays of your library. The user name and PW are the same ones you need to sign on your computer or to authorize a change to its system by default. Its what your ATV needs to share files from your PC.

Okay my computer is not password restriced so I will leave that blank. And where can I find the correct
Ip address. is the format xxx.xxx.x.xxx or xxx.xxx.x? I see an ip address on the xbmc system info and about 4 different ones on my cpu. All slighly different numbers and formats. Which one to choose?

Hey folks Im okay on the smb connection. I have new questions now. 1) when I first set up the smb folder I was given add on options such as IMDb and ect. After setting the options and closing the folders how do I bring these options back up? 2) How do I find the plugins after I install the video add ons i.e tmz and youtube? Lastly how do I delete video sources?

- Ned Scott - 2011-12-20

Select the item/movie/source/folder you want to do something with and press and hold down "menu" for the contextual menu to pop up.

The videos tab has a section for video add-ons.

Thanks, I see the section for video add ons like YouTube and tmz ect, but when I try to use them they say missing plug in. Where can I get the plugin

- Ned Scott - 2011-12-20

They are the plug-in. We'll need a debug log at this point: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_file

- motor86 - 2011-12-28

OK I have tried eveeything and nothing is working. When I try to run every single video add on i.e weather, youtube, fox, tmz ect. I get a *script.failed!: plugin.video....* message in the bottom right corner. What is going on? What am I doing wrong or missing

Not giving a debug log

- motor86 - 2011-12-29

What is a debug logHuh Sorry, I'm new to xbmc
