Database error (starting from scratch w beta1) - Maetrik - 2011-12-25
How do i start from scratch with a new shared MySQL on a NAS on the Eden beta? I created databases xbmc_video and xbmc_music but xbmc refuses them and tells me nonstop he could not find any database. Before Beta1 i started Cydia version first do create all the nessesary tables into that databases and installed a Nightly version after it. Now XBMC is looking for xbmc_video58 and xbmc_music18 which are not there.
What is told here to set in advancedsettings.xml is def not working anymore. The only way i could get it working is without specifing a name for the dbs in advancedsettings.xml. Anything else, dbs named xbmc_video and xbmc_video or xbmc_video58 / xbmc_music18 gave me tons of errors and XBMC does not react at all

23:58:42 T:2693809472 ERROR: Unable to open database: xbmc_video54 [1049](Unknown database 'xbmc_video54')as told before: i had this a while ago when starting from scratch with a nightly version. my workaround was to start cydia version first, which created all the tables into xbmc_video and xbmc_music. then i installed a nightly which copied the tables from xbmc_video into xbmc_video58 and everthing went fine. now that beta1 is default cydia, i'm really in trouble.
edit: nevermind, i just created a user for db usage and grand all privileges to it WITHOUT creating databases, now everything went fine without an error.

Eden can make databases. It should not be necessary to create them before hand if you wish to start from scratch.
