I can confirm that the simple fix suggested here solves the Couchpotato 2 quality selection issue for me:

I'm running XBMC Eden and the latest CouchPotatoServer (from git). I've confirmed that CPS is accessible via the address in the settings on my HTPC as well as some other devices.
Any help would be appreciated! I love this add-on!
Frodo beta 1 has version 0.9.0 of the trailers. You should go here: https://github.com/XBMC-Addons/plugin.video.the.trailers/downloads
and get version 0.9.2. In that version you can select between CPv1 and CPv2

Anyone else gettting the error message "please check your internet connection and proxy settings"? This happens when i try to stream/download some of the trailers. Also, this only happens for some of the trailers, in other words, some trailers work and others dont. I'm using frodo beta 3 and the latest version of the trailers

Have a look in your XBMC log file (in windows usually in C:\users\yourname\appdata\roaming\xbmc)
and see if the same error as hitcher and I get is logged.
Possible scraper problem?

I'm getting the same errors in the logs myself. I noted a couple trailers are not showing up for me, but I don't know if it's related. I went looking for The Pacific Rim and it isn't in The Trailers but is on the site.

I get this error on all trailers released since 12/04/12. Earlier trailers play fine for me.
And indeed the URL http://trailers.apple.com/moviesxml/s/universal/oblivion/index.xml does not seem to exist. Possibly Apple has changed how they display the movies on their site, though a cursory inspection of the page source doesn't reveal anything.

just a quick tip for those using CouchPotato v2 and a reverse proxy. I'm using a reverse proxy to get CouchPotato reachable through my regular apache server as http://server/cp. This means that http://ip:port does not work for the Trailers, as everything is http://ip:port/cp. The solution is as much a hack as it is simple. For port number, simply put in port/cp, in my case 8084/cp
If you have a different remote proxy name (URL Base in advanced general settings in CouchPotato) then substitute with your own, of course.
I hope this helps some others, I'm happy I have access from the outside world to CouchPotato again as well as the convenience as trailer integration!
