It works using the 0.6.0 version I haven't tried to upgrade for fear of breaking it again. Is there something I can look into or provide that would be helpful

Been a few months since I updated my install since 0.5.12 worked so well for me, but now I'm up to date at version 0.6.3. Looks good mcheng89. Thanks as always for the continued development and support. I'll play around with it and see what kind of nasty bugs I can come up with, if any. Wink

By the way for anyone on Android, I find the iphone.html interface works quite well with a little bit of additional software. The built in browser doesn't work well with iphone.html (at least not on my HTC One). I tested a bunch of browsers to find out what one worked best and I ended up with ONE Browser. It's the the only one that let me change the quality settings and let me scroll through the channel listing correctly. Also I use MX Player Pro (there's also a free version that should work just fine) because a few other players seem to have sync issues or stop playing for no reason (at least on older versions of tvserver).

I wish I could help fix up the iphone.html to work better with Android, but I have no idea what needs done. I could test though as always.

This is interesting because iphone.html works fine on my Motorola Xoom (android) with the default browser. The earlier versions of iphone.html had bugs which made the favorites and quality settings a bit quirky. Have you tried going back to the default browser with v0.6.3? From my (limited) understanding the iphone.html file should work on any android platform.

Any way to get the PVR plugin to work on XBMC android?

I just bought a android mini pc that I want to use in my house as a set top box replacement. I can watch tv through the pseudo tv plugin but the pvr plugin doesn't seem to show up in my addons screen in XBMC like it does on XBMC windows. the pvr plugin is a bit prettier Smile has anyone made it work on android?

I don't know a way of easily accessing a TVserver GUI AND using the directstream option in android other than the pseudotv plugin? The iphone.html is lacking the directstream option. Am I right thinking that pseudotv plugin is currently my best option?

BTW mcheng, I believe that "wmc friendly" under your todo list is as a result of something I said a few months back about the server "breaking" my WMC and causing errors. I am happy to say that this seems to have sorted itself out in some other update because I have not had that problem in quite a long time now.

Has anyone been able to get the pvr plugin as part of this working on a raspberry pi (or even in windows)? Every time I try to use it I get an error and it instantly disables the pvr plugin.

@mcheng89

Any reason why this would not work with Chromecast from a laptop? From my limited testing the video works from laptop through chromecast to my TV but the audio doesn't come through.

Haven't looked at this for a couple of days.

Just a quick update: I just added direct stream on android for iphone.html

First I want to thank mcheng89 for all his work, this is a great piece of software and its only going to get better. The windows version seems to work well im using the pvr addon in XBMC, the only thing I have noticed is im seem to have some buffering issues on HD channels. is there a setting somewhere to change the buffer size? that being said Im primarily a linux guy. my HTPC is dual boot gentoo linux and windows vista, I would love to get rid of vista. cant wait for the linux version, I am more than willing to be a beta tester and help out in any way with debugging, I do have some experience with C++ and a few other languages. let me know if I can help. thanks again mcheng89!

Wow, this thread is huge. Hoping I can get some tips on the best way to stream HD around the house to my iPad. I have everything working fine with the infiniTV 4. I am streaming to 2 XBox extenders in HD just fine. I also installed the XBMC plugin on a couple of Macs around the house - those stream HD fine, and give me the nice guide interface. My issue is that I can't figure out what the best way to stream HD to my iPad is. I have a jailbroken iPad 3 (retina). I can use the mobile / http streaming via the /m/iphone.html URL, and it works - but it won't reliably stream HD. I have to set the resolution / quality down to get it to stream without stuttering. On the other hand, I have XBMC and the plugin installed on the same iPad. Streaming through XBMC, I get a direct HD stream (over my same wifi) and it runs almost perfectly. The problem is, I can't figure out how to get the guide to come up - my only option is to 2-finger click, quit the plugin, manually change the channel in the add-on settings, and re-launch. I'd love to just use the XBMC interface, but without the guide, it's really cumbersome. Any tips? What are other folks doing?

Also, is there any way to access the recordings on the host PC other than through the XBox extender?

Lastly - mcheng89 - thank you thank you thank you for giving us this awesome capability.

When you stream to your other devices are you always using the direct stream? If so the stuttering issue is probably coming from the server computer. When using /m/iphone.html you are viewing a transcoded version of the stream, not the raw stream (though I think mcheng has plans to allow direct streaming at some point). Watching the raw stream requires a fast network connection but doesn't require much of the server computer (it just has to pass the stream from the InfiniTV 4 over http). Transcoding an HD file at high bitrate, on the other hand, is very CPU intensive and it could be that your server computer is not fast enough and is causing the stuttering during transcoding. As a reference for how fast your computer needs to be, my server has an i5-2500k (stock voltage and frequency) and I can watch 720p at high bitrate with no problems (1080p might be okay, I don't have a good enough internet connection to test it). Previously I had a Celeron G530 and this struggled to do anything beyond 480p and medium bitrate.

Quote:Also, is there any way to access the recordings on the host PC other than through the XBox extender?

Not through this program. You could always do a network share or something but that would be outside of this program. I know mcheng has started looking into adding recording capabilities so one day this feature will probably exist but for now the answer is "not using this program."
