Newb question - how do you Skip/Jump ahead on ATV2? Had a few shows crash and not record stopping point but all I can do is jump 30sec forward which takes a while to load.

Thanks!!

Check out this:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Keymap:Joystick.AppleRemote.xml

It changes the up and down arrows on the appletv2 remote to jump 10 minutes at a time (up skips 10 minutes forward, down skips 10 minutes backward).

I think moving it to before playback would satisfy everyone.

Thanks.

Hi Bluecop, is there a way to sort Queue by tv show? Is kinda a mess since it didn't show the tv show title and the episode is jumble up in sequence. Beside that is a damn great plugin. Thanks.

- BlueCop - 2012-02-23

what skin are you using? it has show names. the skin might be using the wrong label. like episode title rather then the full label it sets.

I don't see the point in sorting the queue. it is ordered by when a video was added. You can use the website to resort your queue.

if you want to access a specific show then go to subcriptions.

maybe I am not seeing the advantage of this.

edit: it is really simple to add the option though. I tested it and can see how some people might like it. I will add it in as an optional setting.

edit2: it changes the label it displays based on which sort method I use. I might have to set the episode title differently. It shouldn't effect the display for playback though because it sets those separately.

I added some queue, subscription and history sorting options.

It just uses the built in sorting methods based on the meta data we use.

They now have the option to sort by name, premiere date, studio, genre, mpaa rating, and video rating based on user votes.

Queue and History has a playlist order which will display the order in which they were added to their respective list.

I can add the sorting to more places. I am just not sure what sorting should be available where.

Thanks Bluecop, that's freaking fast. Now I could see the title of the show. By the way, just wondering can it be group together by series? If cannot then forget it. Thanks again.

Damn B! you killin' it with the updates!! :-)

two things for me:
1) I can't tell if it's something with my system, or with the Pre-Roll Ads. If I have it selected -- Pre-Roll ads (2), then they get stuck in the queue. When i go to look at the "Now Playing" queue, it shows up with a funky icon. If i click to play it, then it plays the ad and continues on and plays.
Here's a pastebin -- http://pastebin.com/RGctW44Q -- although at first glance, i see no errors.
Naturally, if I set the Pre-Roll Ads to '0'... everything works fine. tried with different skins -- same result -- No biggie... ads, no ads...

Number, second one... I been still wondering about putting things on Network Shares. and it had occured to me that the plugin/ script for artwork downloader does just this thing. So, I asked Martijn how he does it, and this is what he said:
We use a special method that is build in XBMC to make this possible. This allows writing files to remote shares even when they are protected by user/password.

Example:
PHP Code:
import xbmcvfs
....
xbmcvfs.copy(sourcetarget

so, i'm not smart enough to figure this out... so, i thought maybe if it interests you, you'd have a look at it...?
He also sent me a link to the full code:
Here's our full code
https://github.com/paddycarey/script...lib/fileops.py

almost forgot:
ATV 2: Eden Beta 3

Thanks for the tips guys - that did the trick! I knew about holding down the menu button but not the select.

Thanks again!

what do you mean by group by series? there are several sort orders available in the xbmc menu.

thanks locomot1f. I didn't know that was possible.

where to begin...
wow! i know... how about the first page of this forum.
you know, where it talks about xbmc.log(s) and stuff...
(a little sarcasm, for the sarcasm)

-- it sounds like your librtmp is not up to par. again, it's gonna take some work on your part providing us with information we need to help get you going. :-D

The reason I didn't post my log and I still haven't is because I'm posting from work (writing this msg from work as well) since I'm running Eden Beta 3 with a freshy fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 I don't think I need to update librtmp (as per the instruction on page 1) am I mistaken?? When I get home I'll run the script again and post the logs. One sidenote, the script doesn't necessarily "fail" it just stops after commercials...

- locomot1f - 2012-02-23

@rahduke

okay... also try this per my last post:

set your Pre-Roll ads to (0)

i think there may be something suspect with the pre-roll ads on certain shows.

keep us posted.

All I get are ads - Taubin - 2012-02-23

For some reason, whenever I try to play something, whether it is in my queue or not, all I'm getting is ads looping over and over. I've tried changing the ad settings, and resetting to default, but, I still get nothing but ads. When I reverted to default settings, two ads play, then it says it can't open the stream.

Any help? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

@ Taubin

seems to be spreading...

try disabling both Pre-Ads and Network Pre-Roll (if you have that selected).

check out my post on page 37.
check to see if your stuff is getting caught up in the 'Now Playing' queue.

Thanks. I had tried all of those, and it was still doing it. Turns out it was peerguardian blocking the stream. Blush

Hopefully this helps someone else just in case.
