You should be able to bitstreaming DTS-MA/TrueHD directly from HD5850 to AVR. - atlind01 - 2012-02-09 bluray Wrote:If you want to order a new GPU, I was going to suggest AMD for Windows instead. It seem to work better with W7+XBMC. This $35 (SAPPHIRE 100322L Radeon HD 6450 1GB) should be able to playback BD in full 1080P video, bitstreaming DTS-HD/TrueHD and 3D too! +1, I have been struggling with Xonar audio card for a while. I replaced my video card with Radeon 5450 and it costed me the same $35 last month and then updated the driver software. Now with the Windows patch I am all set. - DDDamian - 2012-02-09 atlind01 Wrote:+1, I have been struggling with Xonar audio card for a while. I was breaking it to him gently The "official" Xonar HDA thread at AVScience is 313 pages and it's not pretty. It's a great card if you need analog out on multiple channels, but has been essntially replaced for $35 with a pure digital path via HDMI with the AMD cards Bluray refers to. - atlind01 - 2012-02-09 DDDamian Wrote:I was breaking it to him gently The "official" Xonar HDA thread at AVScience is 313 pages and it's not pretty. Exactly, its a nice piece of card but Xonar's path of using ASIO complicates the issue. In my case I have a large mix of stereo and 5.1 audios. When I was using the Xonar I have to go to their control application every time and choose the channel mix to get the best performance. I chose Xonar in the first place because of AMD was not allowing more than 2 channels thru HDMI until late 2011. - Mati24 - 2012-02-09 How it works with the beta 3, we must wait a new build from you ? Or with install the beta 3 ? Thank you - dtviewer - 2012-02-09 Mati24 Wrote:How it works with the beta 3, we must wait a new build from you ? Or with install the beta 3 ? You can use the build mentioned in post #238. - discinabq - 2012-02-09 that build is based on beta 1, i believe. - voip-ninja - 2012-02-09 dtviewer Wrote:You can use the build mentioned in post #238. That build is based on Beta 1. Hopefully we will see a build based on Beta 2 that also includes the DTS-MA timing fixes as well as possibly some fixes to the 200ms audio delay issue that affects most users. I'm not aware of a Beta 3. - discinabq - 2012-02-09 Beta 3 shows here: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/win32/ - steelman1991 - 2012-02-09 voip-ninja Wrote:That build is based on Beta 1.http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/win32/ - voip-ninja - 2012-02-09 discinabq Wrote:Beta 3 shows here: Interesting, they are probably holding off announcement on the home page until it's compiled for other OS. - voip-ninja - 2012-02-09 Daniela, is there any chance you can create a new build based on Beta 3 that also includes the DTS-MA timing fix that is mentioned in post 238? - jarwha - 2012-02-09 Hi, With DTS-HD Master Audio I get an error "Failed to initialize audio device" I am using an nvidia ION based system and an Onkyo TX-NR3008 (which can handle DTS-HD MA). please help.... - voip-ninja - 2012-02-09 jarwha Wrote:Hi, ION does not support DTS-MA bitstream. - PatrickBateman - 2012-02-09 jarwha Wrote:Hi, I'm pretty sure ion doesn't support HD audio... I think 1 version of the ion does (Asrock ion 3D) but overall the ion chipset doesn't allow hd audio (such as acer aspire revo 3610/3700 etc etc etc) they don't do HD audio on windows. That could be your issue, I'd try there first. Edit... Posted at the same time lol |
