(and you can use your remote if you want)

Yup, never owned an SB. What's killing me is that SB seems to rely on the album tag more heavily then I like. Most of my music was never part of a true album so I leave that blank. That or my music is a continous DJ Mix.

I'm probably in the minority but I don't really care about which album a song is from. I just care about the song title, artist, year and genre.

Now that I got it figured out (for the most part) I'll have to test it out to see if the "SB way" works for me.

Have to ask - if you don't own one, why bother? Use the XBMC music player surely??

I'm just going through the interwebs testing out all the different media players I can find. XBMC has its own shortcomings in the Audio department. Its excellent for Movies/Video but is not as advanced in the Audio/Music yet.

I really like the multi-room possibilities of SB which is what drew me to it. With so many different audio codecs, formats, cue files, tagging and how people use them differently... its no wonder there's no "perfect" solution out there

Yep that's true...hence why I bothered with the SB side of things and bringing it in - I see it as a bridging solution until XBMC's audio side grows up a bit (if it does).

The Sonos system is obviously the other big player here, but I find them simply too expensive and I've always like the more opne squeeze development model, but it's hard to see a huge future for them to be honest.

I've created a skin for folks using XBMC's default skin, Confluence. It trades some of the Squeezebox extras for being as true as possible to the Confluence music player. The biggest loss is that you only get the next two upcoming tracks and no album art for the upcoming tracks. I think all the other squeezey goodness is there.

The zip file can be downloaded directly from:

https://github.com/downloads/pkscout/script.artistslideshow/xsqueeze.skin.confluence.zip

You need to put this in the addon folder under resources/skins. I'll let bossanova808 make a decision about whether to include it in the distribution.
