I think the crackling that you heard is a general issue with analog on the Pi.

I did a quick test on Xbian the other night.. Alpha 4 updated to Frodo stable. Add-on fired up, I could play audio through HDMI to TV without problems. Chooser was extremely slow and painful (expected), but did work.

One issue I had was that I paused the audio using the 'p' key... and the add-on locked up. I was unable to exit the add-on, restart playback... so I just rebooted the unit. I have no logs at the moment... but I plan on giving this a good run-through this weekend for you.

So is this XSqueeze app running on the raspberry?

Hi, in the wiki I read that 7.6.x is mandatory for the server. Since I'm using 7.5.6 and I have no intention of moving (tried it, slow as hell with the New Music function)... is it really necessary? 7.5.6 works perfectly with squeezelite by itself...

Honestly can't remember what the issue is/was but I think it's a distinct change in the CLI behavior. If you try it and send me a debug log I can look at it to see if I can work around it. (But I use the new music view in the latest LMS all day every day and its fine here... ).

Hi,

Working with Raspbmc. A big thank already
But the shortcuts are not usable by remote only, not very easy for use on Rapberry as usualy they are connected by HDMI so remote is the one of TV.
At least can drive it by LMS Web UI

Normal external RC6 remotes work fine I believe. You are using the CEC system then? I don't know how that works to be honest. I would have thought the same remote events arrived as with anything else. But I have no CEC tvs so don't even know where to start with that one to be honest.

I have now downloaded (7:00 GMT) and compiled my own openelec 3 nightly (ION, x64). squeezeslave playback works, but unfortunately only if xbm is not running.
the xsqueeze addon still fails to play any (audible) music.

I don't know if they send different keys. The "next","pause" are working but I'm not able to select anything. So need to use the web gui to send a playlist and after can control the play.
And seems after use the Xsqueeze, XBMC is not able to play sound (plugin not giving back the sound ?)

Actually it looks like it is running ok there - I thinkmayeb you're not using Confluence or something? It's hitting an error of not being able to find the volume control. Oh, ok I think I know what that is...easy fix....but the player starts and connects ok, there's no crash, so I don't think it's an AE issue. I think maybe you need to unmute the sound for that output in alsamixer, as a guess.

Plugin definitely releases the sound unless maybe it crashes (basically - any issues at all - I need logs for hints!!).

Re: the keys - I need to set up controls navigation, the controls I did for touch screens btu I have realised you need to manually specify the controls order, I thought it would just be automatic...that's why you can't select anything.

It's on the radar...should take too long.

I don't know if this is already in this forum - I haven't found it anywhere - but I am unable to start Xsqueeze. I get script failed error.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Try reading all the wiki stuff first: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-on:XSqueeze

And then maybe post something resembling a decent bug report so I can help....like with some details and a debug log.
