Ok, i found the dependency list. Make is completing normally. what would you like me to do?

Well - throw the binary you have made into your OE 5 system (without any libs added!) - and confirm you can play a variety of audio formats - MP3 in particular but ideally try FLAC/AAC/ALAC etc - whatever you have really!

If that works, stick it on a dropbox or gdrive or whatever and send me the url and I can swap in your binary. Ideally we'd do all the platforms this way but I guess once can't build the others on ubuntu so easily...but I have a Pi one etc, so this might get us out of jail for now

Thanks!

(to be more specific, copy it over the binary in the appropriate bin/linux folder in the xsqueeze addon dir in your userdata folder - and thanks for all this!)

Ok. Can you look at https://code.google.com/p/squeezelite/wiki/BuildInstructions and associated. Let me know if there are any build options you want me to use?

RE: [RELEASE]XSqueeze - Squeezebox player, music chooser and visualiser for XBMC - bossanova808 - 2015-02-09

Ah excellent. And looks like you can build other platforms. So once we have linux might eb good to do them all to keep everything nice and in sync.

Ok - so

RESAMPLE - build with libsoxr support for real time upsampling

Seems a good idea to support other non 44.1 rates some people use. I'd avoid the ffmpeg one.

the other side of it is we need those libs mentioned to be statically linked - whcih I think the Ralphy version does. You cold probably determine this from the makefile (vague memories tell me linking *.a is that way of that but I don't know??)

RE: [RELEASE]XSqueeze - Squeezebox player, music chooser and visualiser for XBMC - volleynbike - 2015-02-09

The binary failed to run [squeezelite: line 5: syntax error: unexpected "("]. I think that i'm missing a make option to tell it which platform to make for. But i have been unable to find the correct syntax. Can you help with this?

I had used "OPTS=-DRESAMPLE make".

Also, OpenELEC has two paths with a squeezelite binary:
/storage/.kodi/addons/script.xsqueeze/resources/bin/osx/squeezelite
/storage/.kodi/addons/script.xsqueeze/resources/bin/arm/squeezelite

I'm assuming i don't have to touch the osx binary?

RE: [RELEASE]XSqueeze - Squeezebox player, music chooser and visualiser for XBMC - bossanova808 - 2015-02-09

Nay you want the linux ones here:

\script.xsqueeze\resources\bin\linux (Apologies I am doing this on windows, same think on OE but with forward slashes and the /storage/etc on there...)

so not osx or arm. I presume make will make for your platform by default.

That was a command line error? that looks more like a syntax error in running it than a program error.

'make all' will usually try and make everything and is where I start

Ok I have duplciated your work (remembered I had an old linux mint VM I can fire up here) - so I have a squeezelite much as you do, but no OE to test it on Sad - but it runs fine on that mint and connects to my LMS (using just ./squeezelite)

I am not yet sure how to build the other platforms etc...will poke around I guess. I can uload this binary somewhere if you're stuck and can test it on OE for me?

I've asked for some help here:

RE: [RELEASE]XSqueeze - Squeezebox player, music chooser and visualiser for XBMC - volleynbike - 2015-02-09

Yes, once i figured out that i was building for linux (not RPi) i loaded squeezelite on linux and it worked fine. Looking forward to Ralph's reply.

RE: [RELEASE]XSqueeze - Squeezebox player, music chooser and visualiser for XBMC - bossanova808 - 2015-02-10

I am not at all sure this will work, but could someone with an RPi (or v2) - running Openelec try out this xsqueeze:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/108804/script.xsqueeze-1.1.8-static.zip

...and let me know if it plays mp3s?

There are new squeezelite binaries for osx, windows, and rpi (but NOT linux) in there...

Bugger I just realised that after shifting house I can't find my SD-microSD adaptor and can't write a micro SD card for it.
