RE: [RELEASE] XBMC Subtitles - Addon Script - quixote_arg - 2012-12-05

Hi

I have installed the add-on on OpenElec on the Raspberry pi, and I get the "error extracting subtitles" (it connects and seems to download fine but doesn't extract)

The video file is stored in an external hard drive

here is the debug log: http://pastebin.com/2cUKn4NR

thanks!

edit I just checked and set 777 permissions to the whole directory to rule out write permissions issues, still same error

Hi!

I'm using the Frodo Beta 2 and since I installed the Frodo betas (and some nightlys) I wont get xbmc subtitles-script (I've tried 3.5.0, 3.9.0 and 3.9.1) to work.

This is my debug log: http://pastebin.com/0CgqkgZu

I've tried everything, and nothing happens when i click the Subtitles-button. After watching the movie/show I just get a error message; can't load script.xbmc.subtitles.

Is there anything I've forgot to do?

A silly question: is there a way to browse directly with the compressed arquive, without need to extract them?

yes, I think you can just give it a zip://path/to/zipfile.zip as directory, it should see it as a folder

Ok, I had an odd behavior. If I pass a rar:// encoded file path to the xbmcgui.Dialog().browse(), it will open it; if I pass a zip:// encoded file path, it redirects the browse to the Home path.

The log shows no difference between the two cases. No error, no debug, no info.

its obvious that xbmc doesn't see the file you playing as "video is playing", as to why... I have no idea... its XBMC bug

all platforms i have tested lately, OSX, OpenElec, OpenElec rPi, ATV2 and iOS dont have any issues... you should speak to whoever does the version you are running

Dear amet,

I tested on windows and RPI. When opening a media file from your library the addon works fine and the media file is detected. The problem only exists when running a video web stream. In this case: ERROR: EXCEPTION: XBMC is not playing any media file.

I think it is a common problem to all versions since it doesn't work on the PI as well.

(tested with a putlocker stream)

The strang of my is that icefims and projectfree tv works fine with subtitel but no with 1channel.
Appletv2 no problem at all. Only raspberry

you have to take it up with addon authors, they are doing something wrong there as i have no problems streaming stuff here

found my problem, xbmc subtitles works well as long as I don't use the Aeon MQ4 skin.

ok so I guess i got the same problem

RE: [RELEASE] XBMC Subtitles - Addon Script - Phantom_Zone - 2012-12-13

Is there any trick to getting subtitles working? I've never had anything but heartache with them...After selecting a subtitle file (as download doesnt save one these days) it usually starts the subs at the wrong point...eg. 10 minutes in...

When i check the sub file it is correct and complete...

If i restart the movie it then maybe starts subs 12 minutes in lol...totally random and its been like this for years so its not a Frodo issue...

Even if they do sort of work you're constantly having to adjust as they can be minutes out of sync...

I have to assume I'm doing something wrong but theres little to configure so would appreciate a pointer in the right direction!

RE: [RELEASE] XBMC Subtitles - Addon Script - Niglooze - 2012-12-13

Did you try deleting the add on folder AND the user addon folder ?
Then redownload and parameter the add on?

There is now a function in the parameter that allow you to automatically donwload the sync sub (if founded of course)

Hi Amet,

I saw you pull request (https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/1444#issuecomment-9219031) about subtitle addons restructuring, and i find this idea great. Anybody could give a hand and do his own xbmc.subtitle.module using you amazing script.
The fact you close this request, does it mean you dropped the idea of developing xbmc subtitle 4.0.0 with separate xbmc.subtitle.module?

Thank you very much for the great work, I am using your addon every single day!
