[Windows7] Local streaming 1080p video, buffering issues - Djsnake86 - 2012-03-29

Hi, I'm using XBMC 10.1 Dharma on Windows 7 and everything runs fine.

However when I was watching a local streamed video yesterday on XBMC Dharma, it suddently stopped at some point of the playback (and the audio was keeping going) and after 4 seconds the video restarted to works properly from the point it was stopped.

My configuration is a 1 gigabit local network (when I click on the network icon in windows 7 it says 1.0 Gbps).

Do you think my configuration is not enough to local stream 1080p video? Is that normal? I never had this problem with local streamed standard definition videos.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You're wired network is definitely sufficient to stream 1080p. Without a debug log, people can only speculate. Turn on debugging and keep watching 1080p movies till it does the same thing again. Then post the log on pastebin and link it here.

Can you recreate this issue with all 1080p content?

I'm actually getting alot of buffering lately. My kids are joking now, citing the "quality time" guy from the commercials now. Kinda embarassing.

Anyway, I get it alot, whether it's 1080p, 720p, whatever...and there is no pegging of either RAM of proc on the HTPC or the server.

This file is giving me TONS of problems, even though memory and CPU never get over 5%.

Here's my log:

Thanks!

We need to see a log showing your playing the film. Play the film until the buffering starts then stop the film, close XBMC and post the log.

Have you tried copying the film to the C: drive and playing it from there?

Weird.

With Debugging on, the buffering doesn't happen on most of the files I normally have a problem with.

I think I've seen this elsewhere in the forum, but I don't remember what came from it.

Do you?
BTW...this doesn't happen when streaming with VLC.

It's looking like the cache runs out in NO time. Even when played locally.
