Well, hello there, Media info 3. Big Grin So glad this view landed. I love the tall & narrow list combined with the large, (almost entirely) unobstructed fan art+poster combo. Great job, Jezz_X!

@Aonoa, would be easier to work with Confluence lite, not our mod. Study and try to understand Home.xml, especially the" fixedlist - 9000" which is your main menu.

Where can i download confluence lite non xbt version as want to have a play and learn and maybe one day put a skin out there Big Grin

Try Confluence Addon on the XBMC Git.

RE: Playing around with confluence - User 34959 - 2012-06-25

Can we get a new build please with the Media Info 3? I tried grabbing the confluence directory from the nightly build XBMC.app and copying it to my user data but it wouldn't work completely. Backgrounds were missing and lot of the texts too.

RE: Playing around with confluence - Jezz_X - 2012-06-25

New versions wont work on eden because the way languages are handled changes completely so there will be lots of missing text so you may as well just update to a nightly build if its a "must have" feature

You need to show the "RATINGS' somewhere there as well.... Lot of people need the rating of the movie (not so much the episodes) at a glance.

If you're referring to the numerical ratings in the lists, I'm glad those (and the HD/SD flags) aren't shown in this view. The list looks really clean without them, and the limited horizontal space is better used for item names, imo.

Different opinions I guess Smile I think the numerical rating can certainly fit in there, in many diff places.

RE: Playing around with confluence - daanwillems - 2012-06-29

Thanks for the great work on this skin!

While I like the 'play' triangle aside movies/items that are left in the middle of a playthrough, it also confuses the watched/unwatched selection. (It appeared I had a lot of movies left in unfinished state.)
Not sure what the best solution would be here, i.e. watched always means not left unfinished playthrough state or icon should be watched regardless of playthrough state. Maybe an option to use the triangle (current situation) at all or only watched/unwatched (old situation) would be best/easiest.

Second, I would like to drop a little something regarding the programs section. It always felt like an oddity along the media related menu items in XBMC until I discovered the Executor plugin. I have since been using that to start programs like Firefox, Konsole, Chromium, Thunderbird, etc. from XBMC (mostly fullscreen using some cli options).

Currently, the Executor plugin is a shortcut icon under my Programs menu, but it would be an improvement to put the actual programs launched from Executor there. I know that this is more of a plugin related thing that might not work out that way for the Home Screen, but I guess there are more people that are using their XBMC as a living room internet station and could really benefit from launching some programs straight from their Home Screen.

Configurable submenu's would be my third request, i.e. an option to choose what you want to show underneath the main menu items. For example, I would rather have 'Genres' and 'Recently added albums' than 'Artists' and 'Albums' under Music. Same goes for Video/TV Shows/Movies.

Hi Jezz,

i updated all my machines in the last days to frodo in the hope that the new "media info 3" would be in the nightlys.

Sadly it isn't. Could you please provide us a zipped version of the current state of confluence. That would be fantastic.

I really like your work, you did a great job!

Thank you very much

greetz

RE: Playing around with confluence - _matt_ - 2012-07-04

@regnets, which nightly are you running? It's been in the last few I've tried. Definitely in 20120629, 'cause I'm running it at the moment.

RE: Playing around with confluence - regnets - 2012-07-04

Hi Matt,

that's confusing...

I'm running the atv2 build 20120702.

Maybe I missed it?

What is the name of the view?

Thank you

[Edit]
I have no idea why I didn't see the view at first time.

I'm sorry for the dumb question.

RE: Playing around with confluence - NiklasK - 2012-08-07

I´m using the latest OpenELEC build and from what I can understand the new Lite version of Confluence isnt included there. Is there a way to download the skin separetely?

RE: Playing around with confluence - mad-max - 2012-08-07

Get the tarball from here:
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/zipball/master

and then extract the skin and copy it over to your machine

I guess everyone has their own opinion. But, since I see that someone else was also asking for the exact same thing as me -- here's what I did to put the ratings and movie length into the thumbnail view.

I didn't care for the "Total Duration" field in the bottom-right corner. I can't really see any use for it personally (when looking at multiple movies at least). So, I replaced this with the movie length and rating -- code that I found in another skin (I'm a Python newbie!).

Anyway, open up the following file: C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\addons\skin.confluence\720p\includes.xml. Find the section called CommonPageCount and change this line from:
Code:
<label>$INFO[Container.TotalTime,$LOCALIZE[31009] ([COLOR=blue],[/COLOR])]</label>

to:
Code:
<label>$INFO[ListItem.Duration, , $LOCALIZE[12391]]$INFO[ListItem.RatingAndVotes, • ]</label>

I realize it's a hack.. but, seems to work for me!!
