Airplay not working at all - tmacka88 - 2012-03-31 I have done a little reading and can see a few people having issues with this but can at least get some parts working. I can get any airplay function to show up. RE: Airplay not working at all - Memphiz - 2012-03-31 post xbmc.log with debugging turned on. RE: Airplay not working at all - tmacka88 - 2012-04-01 Can you advise me how I can access this log from Buntu's desktop? thanks RE: Airplay not working at all - tmacka88 - 2012-04-01 Got it. this is my log. http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=1121 Will this help even though i cant even communicate with XBMC via airplay? thanks RE: Airplay not working at all - grywnn - 2012-04-01 If you don't even see XBMC as a target on the devices you want to stream from: Did you install avahi-daemon as mentioned in the airplay wiki: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=AirPlay#Requirements ... cause without that, the airplay service won't be announced on your network, and thus won't apear on your devices. RE: Airplay not working at all - tmacka88 - 2012-04-01 O, sorry didnt see that sorry. Was working on mac assumed something was wrong. Thanks. I ran the command and got trent_mackness@XBMC:~$ sudo apt-get install avahi-daemon [sudo] password for trent_mackness: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... 50% but still not showing up on ipad etc or does it meen do this on command line within ubuntu when it states this #(on Ubuntu) Airplay not working at all - Memphiz - 2012-04-01 Code: 12:39:39 T:2843720560 DEBUG: CZeroconfAvahi::doPublishService: client not running, queued for publishing the avahi is not running. If this is xbmcbuntu then imho its a wrong default (this should be working without interaction of the user). RE: Airplay not working at all - tmacka88 - 2012-04-01 What would fix that? RE: Airplay not working at all - Memphiz - 2012-04-01 Code: /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon start something like that... RE: Airplay not working at all - tmacka88 - 2012-04-02 this is what i get after running the code above: Still no airplay. trent_mackness@XBMC:~$ /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon start Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8) utility, e.g. service avahi-daemon start Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an Upstart job, you may also use the start(8) utility, e.g. start avahi-daemon start: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.25" (uid=1000 pid=1596 comm="start avahi-daemon ") interface="com.ubuntu.Upstart0_6.Job" member="Start" error name="(unset)" requested_reply="0" destination="com.ubuntu.Upstart" (uid=0 pid=1 comm="/sbin/init") RE: Airplay not working at all - Memphiz - 2012-04-02 Code: sudo service avahi-daemon start RE: Airplay not working at all - tmacka88 - 2012-04-05 (2012-04-02, 09:57)Memphiz Wrote: That fixed it for a bit. RE: Airplay not working at all - Memphiz - 2012-04-05 Did you restart your computer You have to make the start of the deamon sticky. (not sure how to do that on xbmcbuntu). Maybe some linux dev or linux user could jump in here now. RE: Airplay not working at all - tmacka88 - 2012-04-05 Yeh I did restart. Explains it at least. I've just done a fresh install to test this and it seems to start fine: Code: @MicroServer:~$ /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon status |
