RE: XBMC Eden crashing - john.doe - 2012-04-06 Same problem here. I am going to post a bug report next time when it happens again. I hope this issue will be fixed soon because it occures quite often. RE: XBMC Eden crashing - DDDamian - 2012-04-06 Guys - we're recognizing this is an issue - but we need those logs pls. RE: XBMC Eden crashing - john.doe - 2012-04-06 It sounds strange but as soon as I enable debugging mode, it never happens again? It is the same issue which was already discussed here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=119503. Unfortunately the problem indeed can't be reproduced when logging is turned on. Otherwise, it will crash within few seconds when skipping forward and backward repeadtly. RE: XBMC Eden crashing - kricker - 2012-04-06 I've tried and tried to replicate this on 3 different Windows PCs. I just can't get it to crash. We need to know the various settings I asked for earlier. RE: XBMC Eden crashing - john.doe - 2012-04-06 Settings are all default. Resolution 1680x1050 Audio Output analog RE: XBMC Eden crashing - doclucas - 2012-04-06 upgrading the nVidia display drivers didn't seem to help. It still crashes occasionally when I am performing those operations. Will try to get a full log asap. It might become quite large in case I will need to leave debugging on for a long while, where do I send it to if it's large? RE: XBMC Eden crashing - john.doe - 2012-04-06 I suppose you either won't be able to reproduce the problem when logging is activated. I tried for hours and it is stable. However as soon as I turn it off and try again it crashes whithin short time. If you could make it though you might use pastebin.com RE: XBMC Eden crashing - amerrykan - 2012-04-07 After reproducing this on two different Windows 7 PCs using NFS, I enabled debugging logging and used all manner of skipping and seeking to jump around the file (I spent about an hour doing this on both machines). I could not make it crash again. To be absolutely sure nothing was interfering, I deleted my XBMC profile (%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming, deleted the XBMC folder), added the video source and started playback. I reproduced the crash in less than a minute. Here's the crashlog from that, whatever use it may be: http://pastebin.com/SRttKrRN As expected, nothing is logged between the time playback begins and the crash occurs. I'll continue attempting to reproduce this with debugging logging enabled, but I'm fairly sure we need a new approach to troubleshooting this. RE: XBMC Eden crashing - amerrykan - 2012-04-07 Here's a log with debugging enabled, but no crash: http://facestabbins.com/xbmc.log Perhaps it will give someone a clue. RE: XBMC Eden crashing - john.doe - 2012-04-07 I have recognized that xbmc not always crashes instantly sometimes playback just freezes when skipping. I was able to turn on debugging logging after the freeze (xbmc still worked, only playback of video stopped). I have no clue if it is somehow useful. http://pastebin.com/hh9uF0SB RE: XBMC Eden crashing - doclucas - 2012-04-07 (2012-04-06, 23:04)john.doe Wrote: I suppose you either won't be able to reproduce the problem when logging is activated. Actually I did reproduce it when the debugging was on and then pasted here the end of the log, but unfortunately I didn't keep the full log and then it was lost and I just couldn't reproduce it again with debugging on. Point is, it is possible to reproduce with debugging on. RE: XBMC Eden crashing - debennett2 - 2012-04-07 Yeah, I'm noticing the same here. The underlying symptom is very annoying (the crashing)....but I can't seem to reproduce with logging on but can in moment with it off. THATT in itself should say something, right? I've tried hardware and software decoding, always at 1920x1080, auto deinterlacing settings (anyone else havingthese issues using any processing?) RE: XBMC Eden crashing - doclucas - 2012-04-07 I reproduced the crash. Will review and see if it helps pin this down. RE: XBMC Eden crashing - blitz4ever - 2012-04-12 Hello, I'm new on the forum and with XBMC (4 days running ) I came to this thread because I have also the crash problem with Eden. The thing is, that I know what causes the problem (in my situation). I have XBMC running on a Server 2008 R2 server which I use as file server and webserver. The server shares my VGA monitor with my computer (next to the server) via a KVM switch (Aten CS22U). The server is also connected to my Panasonic plasma via HDMI (cable through the wall to my living room). When I watch a movie on my VGA or HDMI (or at the same time, via duplicate desktop) there is no problem. But when I push my KVM button, because I want to use my computer -> XBMC crashes (ntdll error in the windows log and XBMC says the same like the logs in the posts above, jobworker .... thing). I don't know if you can use this? |
