Start with trying to ping your htpc
(hope you do not run a firewall on the HTPC)
Just from PC2 to HTPC: in windows and linux: ping 192.168.1.35
If that works we know you can at least reach them and then we will test if it might be router or pc

I am using XBMC Remote v1.2.1 on my iPad 1. The iOS XBMC Remote app connects to my iMac running Frodo RC-3. I am experiencing the issue where periodically the iOS app gets disconnected and then re-connect. I see this in the XBMC log:

@Joe: I am going to do an re-install on my HTPC (I have played around so much with the problems I have encountered that I sincerely do not know where to look. With a clean install I can probably better pinpoint (if that is necessarily). Unfortunately it is not done within the next couple of days so till then I will do it with this (I might try a virtualbox just to test if I can reproduce my problem in there).

Ping is working from any device to the router/modem.
Ping is working from any device on LAN to any other device on LAN (PC1 to HTPC)
But ping isnt working from or to any device on WLAN. Only to the router/modem itself. It writes this:
From PC1(lan) to PC2(wlan)
Pinging 192.168.1.37 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.33: destination host unreachable.
From PC2(wlan) to HTPC(lan)
Pinging 192.168.1.35 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.37: destination host unreachable.
I have also found out in the router settings that there is a firewall on the router. Though disabling it didnt help. I also tried enabling UPnP.
All firewalls have beed disabled during this testing.

Thanx for the modem info. Seems that your router is the problem. This makes trouble shooting a lot easier.

Things you can try (don't do them both at the same time, then you wont be able to see the result -> reboot the zyxel after a change):
Test 1:- Put the wireless mode to dedicated G mode (so no mixed mode)
Test 2: (Page 216 of manual)
Login to the router (http://192.168.1.1) select advanced setup, on the far left of the screen there will be a number of words written in blue (NETWORK, SECURITY, MAINTENANCE, ADVANCED), select "Advanced" and then the sub-section of "Bandwidth MGMT"
Ensure that there are no tick boxes ticked on this page, and click apply.

If this is all not working I am afraid I am not able to help you and advice you to post your post on a dedicated forum. Or on the zyxel forum for help. They might know what is wrong.
I think we can conclude that it is not the app which is faulty.

It works!
The wireless mode was the cause of the problem.
And as you stated it was definitely not the app that was faulty. And yet you had the patience to help me. And for that i thank you a lot!

As it turns out the issue is the firewall on Mac OS X. I turn off the firewall the issue does not happen.

With XMBC v12.0 beta and Iphone 4 IOS5, Official remote IOS 1.2.1
When entering text via the Iphone keyboard, a leading space is always inserted on screen when entering text.
current work around for me is having to move the cursor to the start of the wanted text and backspace to remove it each time any text is entered

Is there a way within the remote app to fast forward through a recorded tv program (using PVR) at say 30-60 secods a time please?
At the moment if I hold the forward button down it goes at twice the playback speed. If I keep tapping it the playback does a small 5sec jump and takes a moment to buffer (using Argus pvr client). Basically I can't find a way to jump through adverts using the iOS remote app quickly at the moment!!

Can you describe better what your want! Do you want to start your receiver or do you want to start the radio plugin from XBMC (which runs internet radio).
Furthermore favorites can be used in the radio plugin on your xbmc and are visible in the screen on your app and usable.
So unless a little clearer what you want...

Can you describe better what your want! Do you want to start your receiver or do you want to start the radio plugin from XBMC (which runs internet radio).
Furthermore favorites can be used in the radio plugin on your xbmc and are visible in the screen on your app and usable.
