Over the last week or so I have been doing some work of my own on modding this skin with the intent of following the Win 8 UI (formerly Metro) design style and integrating several features from other skins I use. I was going to call this mod MetroTV, but since Microsoft killed the term "Metro" last week, it seems I will have to rename it.

Here is a screenshot-

Looks great Smile

Would your mod address this by any chance? Only thing keeping me from using Lightbox at the moment, it is a bit of a chore to scroll through items:
(2012-05-24, 12:51)username145 Wrote: Small usability request:

It would be great if when scrolling across the items in the movie viewtype, that it scrolls down to the next row automatically after reaching the end of the row. Would be handy since the smaller thumbnails can be difficult to see from a distance, and having to scroll down manually as well is a bit cumbersome.

Looking forward to the full release! :-)

RE: [ALPHA RELEASE] Lightbox Skin - ZexisStryfe - 2012-08-08

You are refering to the Movie Panel view? I can see what I can do, but I can tell you that I have added 2 other movie views (the traditional 50 list and transparency's fanart list views) that should help resolve that issue.

RE: [ALPHA RELEASE] Lightbox Skin - username145 - 2012-08-09

Yep I was referring to the default (only) view when scrolling through movies/tv series. In order to scroll through them (in alphabetical order), you need to manually scroll down to the next row, which is a bit tiresome when there are only 3 items per row! Ideally one should be able to scroll through the whole library while pushing down a single button (in my opinion) but I am no programmer so I have no idea how hard it is.

Looking forward to yiur mod regardless :>

I've added the missing video button in the home menu. this is especially important for those who also have video addons.

RE: [ALPHA RELEASE] Lightbox Skin - niamu - 2012-12-19

I've made my own adjustments to this skin. I am running on a Raspberry Pi, so I've stripped every trace of extra images and overlays possible to make the rendering easier on the Raspberry Pi.

I also had to make my own episodes view that is a bit more consistent with the rest of the views and changed some label text to better suit my own taste.

I've also changed the OSD controls for TV shows to use the series poster rather than the thumbnail.

Have a look and see what you think: https://github.com/niamu/skin.nbox

Submit some feature requests if you like. Maybe I'll gradually add new features back in that I've taken out. I do want to keep this project moving forward if tree_jammer isn't available to continue. I'm trying to keep inline with his design choices as much as possible in part to honour the skin concept and in part just because I find it so damn sexy.

PVR! Tongue

RE: [ALPHA RELEASE] Lightbox Skin - j1nx - 2012-12-19

Very nice. Good to see that someone picked it up and is developing it for the less brutal hardware; ARM

Considerring Frodo is almost here, PVR support will finalise it.

RE: [ALPHA RELEASE] Lightbox Skin - niamu - 2012-12-19

I should have known that PVR support would be big on everyone's list. Tongue

I'll start poking around to see how this could be added. If anyone wants to offer some mock-ups for how they feel it should be added to the skin, get in touch.

I wasn't going to add PVR support initially as I was only scratching my own itch to have a nice skin for my Raspberry Pi, but I think the demand is high enough that I'll make the extra effort.

You may also note that there isn't a way to add new video sources at the moment. I couldn't find an elegant place to add that and I don't want to clutter the home screen. Suggestions are welcome.

Mock-ups of how you think features should look are very welcome to give me a starting point. I haven't played with PVR support yet, so I'm in the dark for the moment on where to get started.

RE: [ALPHA RELEASE] Lightbox Skin - j1nx - 2012-12-20

Are you developing on linux or windows?

RE: [ALPHA RELEASE] Lightbox Skin - niamu - 2012-12-20

I'm developing on a Mac actually. Are there some development tools that I'm missing out on?

RE: [ALPHA RELEASE] Lightbox Skin - niamu - 2012-12-20

New login screen style. I'm trying to maintain the style of the home screen that one would log into.

Of course you are Wink

There are a couple of ready to go PVR.Demo plugins, which can quickly get you going with some web streams as demo channels. I do not know if they are also available for Mac though.
