The items that are automatically excluded are hard-coded into Media Companion.
These include 'Recycle Bin', 'System Volume Information' just to name a few.

The reason we use a Hyphen - before the trailer.extn is to definitively separate from a Movies title and the word trailer.
I see the addon does support this
Quote: Practical scenario of how themes are picked up by TvTunes
Regardless of how they are named and the file structure you have selected to use in TvTunes (Video folder, Themes folder or Custom path), TvTunes will play all audio files, which extensions are supported by TvTunes, as long as they include the string "theme" in their names. There is an additional feature provided only by the "Themes" folder, which allow you to even ignore the string "theme" in the names.
For example, all the following audio files will be played by TvTunes as themes for Maleficient (2014) regardless of the TvTunes' file system chosen:

Maleficent (2014) 1080p BRRip H264 AAC-theme.ext
Theme - Meleficient Suite.ext
The Curse Won't Reverse theme.ext
Arthemesia.ext (this will play too ;-))
Theme.ext, theme1.ext, theme2.ext, theme3.ext, etc.

And if the themes are within the Themes folder, the following will also be played:

Would it be possible for you to test this as -theme.extn?

I only ask as this would allow less confusion (easier programming) in Media Companion.

Absolutely! Although that's quoted for audio themes, I'm specifically dealing with video themes....I'm sure it should work just the same. I'm gonna rename a few of the themes and do some testing in kodi. I'll report back, but just to save the hassle, do it the way that makes it easiest and I can adapt my files Smile

RE: Media Companion 3 beta's - Now with Music Video support - artistwantab - 2016-06-27

I didn't include the actor info because I don't believe it relevant and its lengthy.

Just on the chance it didn't scrape properly I went ahead and re-scraped. [/quote][/php][/code]

Since then I have simply created an "action" in photoshop to add the word Foreign at the bottom of the Poster Art. Then is just a matter of putting the foreign films in another folder.

BTW...I don't use KODI.

In all honesty, your software does everything I could want to keep my library.

Kodi has a nice bells and whistles but I don't worry about that.

I am not sure how MC can figure out if the movie is "Foreign", and will pass on that.

I'll see about 1080P, 720P and SD to be added to tag field.

This is interesting. If you come across any movie that does not show Resolution, please open the corresponding nfo and Copy and paste into a message. Wrap it in a [code] section.

As for language, that is going to depend on if the language is coded into the media stream details.
I've seen MP4's that have 'eng', or 'deu' etc, against an audio track, and plenty that don't.
Personally if I have to transcode anything to mkv, I always set the language type. (I rarely have any mp4 or avi files.)

Above movie showed the 'SD' logo in MC overlay,
The Audio
Code:
<audio>
    <codec>ac3</codec>
    <channels>6</channels>
    <bitrate>384 Kbps</bitrate>
</audio>
does not show a language. You'd need to use avi-mux or the likes to set the audio language.
Anternatively, you can just add the <language></language> tag to the audio section and enter the three character language.

This is from movie I have
Code:
<streamdetails>
    <video>
        <width>1280</width>
        <height>720</height>
        <aspect>1.78</aspect>
        <codec>h264</codec>

        <bitrate>1 094 Kbps</bitrate>

    </video>
    <audio>
        <language>eng</language>
        <DefaultTrack>Yes</DefaultTrack>
        <codec>AAC</codec>
        <channels>2</channels>
        <bitrate>64.0 Kbps</bitrate>
    </audio>
</streamdetails>
This shows [b]720[/b] and also [b]'eng'[/b] logo on overlay.

Am adding it now

EDIT: and done. Will be available in the next release.

RE: Media Companion 3 beta's - Now with Music Video support - vbat99 - 2016-06-27

@artistwantab

New option in Movie section, tags, save resolution as first tag.

Can be populated by rescrape Media Stream details, or by rescrape tags.

Will be in the next release.

Very cool.

BTW...a while ago I suggested adding the option of creating screen shots for home movies in increments of say every 2 minutes or whatever the person wants and giving you an option of 8 shots.

It seemed like it would be a possibility?

Yes, I revisited that last week, and need to figure a good way to display multiple screenshots for selection.
It hasn't been forgotten.

Ok, so after some more testing:

1. Hitting escape to cancel scraping for Music Videos doesn't work at all.

2. Any possibility of making CLI command -e for episodes trigger "Check root for new shows", scrape the show, then scrape episodes? Or if need be, make it a new command altogether? I was checking the wiki and didn't notice any CLI commands to check root for new shows. Just perfected my bat files incorporating MC and it's absolutely beautiful for movies and new episodes, just need to be able to trigger new show.

Yep, still some work to be done in this section

There has been great debate on this, and the answer is, no. mc_com.exe will never be programmed to search and find new Shows.

Why? well, blindly scraping a Show, and then any episodes, is a recipe for disaster.
It is too easy to scrape the incorrect show, and then be scraping the episodes for against the wrong show.
One example is the TV Series Castle
99% of the time, MC will scrape the first tv series called Castle, and not the one Castle 2009 (even with the year in the folder)
Imagine the series Dr Who There are three different series for Dr Who, or Doctor Who, or Doctor Who 2005.
These are just a few series that can cause havoc. Hawaii Five-0, Hawaii Five-O is another, Marvel Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. won't even be found. This last one usually needs manual selection of the TV Series.

We've maintained that Series need to be scraped and verified in Media Companion. mc_com.exe then uses this series info to scrape the correct Episode nfo's.

Sorry, #2 isn't going to be incorporated into mc_com.

Hey, Rob. Got something I was hoping you might help with. I use Unraid as my server with a plugin called Recycle Bin. It creates a recycle bin folder that's labeled .recycle.bin. Is there any way to add this to the hard coded ignored folders or show me where I can add it? Every time I do an add folders from root and then refresh, I have to delete these folders. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

1. Obviously not a big deal, just wanted to inform you. Awesome work on the music video section though! Even if you can't scrape the info, just having a gui to manually add the data is much nicer than trying to do nfos by hand lol.

2. That makes sense, but a shame Sad Maybe I can make an autohotkey script to do that portion.

Just to be sure, it is dot recycle dot bin (no spaces of course)

I can hard code that, just verify it for me please.
