[Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup) - ed_davidson - 2015-11-16 Would there be a way to put in the URL to the folder which holds the restore zipped files? Also I've noticed that the dbmc addon has an issue with the special protocol. You can't use special://temp you have to use the platform specific path which is in convient at times. [/quote] Putting in the download URL to a zip file is about the only way I think implementing a "direct download" type of system will work. The download URL would have to be a zip file. Without using a known protocol (like WebDav) that works over http just putting in a URL to a folder of backups from any random cloud repository isn't feasible. A custom html scraper for each site would have to be written, and as soon as the site changed slightly it would most likely break. How can I use the WebDAV service like this ? https://gigaom.com/2011/04/08/get-webdav-access-to-your-dropbox-account-using-dropdav/ RE: [Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup) - D-m-x - 2015-11-16 (2015-11-16, 16:17)robweber Wrote:(2015-11-12, 10:02)D-m-x Wrote: Hi Rob, Well, i tried it with different settings but i couldn't get it to work. However, don't work to hard on that error, for the Time beeing i set up a Cronjob with rclone to mirror my Backup Folder to Drive every Night. Thank you for your Answer nontheless ;-) RE: [Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup) - nokodemus - 2015-11-21 Hi guys and thank you for this great backup addon. I really appreciate the capability to schedule my backups automatically and right send them to NAS I've checked every box in the settings to let the addon backup absolutely everything. Recently i looked into one of the backups and realized that about 60% of the data are thumbnails. So i think about unchecking thumbnails option in the addon settings to improve backup speed and decrease the necessary disk space. Can i do that without having to fear future problems? E.g. are the thumbnails important for the database or will it reload them without any problems if i restore from a backup without thumbnails folder? Thank you [Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup) - ed_davidson - 2015-11-21 The thumbnails are not important. You don't have to back them up. I would however manually delete the textures13 file in the database folder. RE: [Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup) - nokodemus - 2015-11-21 Thank you ed_davidson The texturesXX file is the db file for the thumbnails right? I understand. Deleting this file will force Kodi to rebuild the db and not even look for the old graphics which no longer exist, right? I didn't think about that, great hint. This will save a lot of time and disk space, thank you very much RE: [Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup) - nokodemus - 2015-11-21 It's me once again ^^ First i thought: "Hey come on, that's not a problem for you at all" but meanwhile i think you probably want to read about my finding to further improve the addon. Following "problem": I rebooted Kodi after installing an addon and suddenly the Backup addon started a fresh backup. I wasn't absolutely sure how i scheduled, so i double checked my settings against time and date at the moment. I scheduled every Sunday at 18:00 (6:00 PM) and also checked the files, which where all created at about that time But at the time the Backup Addon startet backing up, it was Saturday afternoon. I thought it could prorbably have started, because Kodi got the actual time from timeservers too late or something like that, but according to the log, it started backing up, after the correct time and timezone was set. To be honest to you, that's no problem at all for me, the addon is brilliant and whether the backup runs 1 day before or after, who usually cares? But anyway i'd like to share this in case there's a little bug and you can further improve the addon here's a cut of my log to proof the time backup started: Code: 15:56:56 44.058647 T:1771590720 ERROR: COMXCoreComponent::WaitForOutputDone OMX.broadcom.egl_render wait event timeout I'm running Openelec 6 Final on my RPi2 Thank you and have a nice weekend [Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup) - ed_davidson - 2015-11-21 The thumbnails are not important. I do the restore and everything seems to go fine. Restart the machine and nothing gets updated. What happens it this. The backup restore creates a new folder called "ing" in the Kodi folder. Inside this folder are the following folders Kodi then cache then 20151121248 . then the addons and userdata folder. If i move the contents of these 2 folders then everything is fine. I didn't post a log because it wouldn't show anything I think Did a log with debugging on: http://xbmclogs.com/puuqxx3b1 https://copy.com/WYYYsMci29oPdwQN/backup%20error.png?download=1 It happens on iPad as well. Leaves a folder in the Kodi folder. RE: [Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup) - jedigman - 2015-11-30 I'm new to this. I am trying to set up back up to store my settings on my Google Drive. I am being asked for the Validation Code. I don't know how or where to get this. I set up 2 Step verification on my account. I get validation codes for my phone and PC but not for kodii. Any help? Seems like it's working normally once the file listing process starts. Not sure what the "ing" folder is all about. I see it's all windows paths so I'll try and do some restores myself. Current version I would assume right? (2015-11-30, 10:36)jedigman Wrote: I'm new to this. I am trying to set up back up to store my settings on my Google Drive.
