RE: Universal Movie Scraper - Karellen - 2018-11-23

@flathead47

There is no setting to deactivate that, nor is there a setting to activate that. There must be something else on your system causing it.

Can you provide a Debug Log which captures the startup scan. It may show something.

  1. Enable Debugging mode. Go to Settings>System Settings>Logging and it should be the first option
  2. Restart Kodi
  3. Replicate the problem.
  4. Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link back here.
Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs

RE: Universal Movie Scraper - flathead47 - 2018-11-23

It appears to have been caused by one of a few very old addons @Karellen. I just uninstalled everything I don't use anymore and the problem went away. May be time to put together a new build.

For example, from yesterday:

1. Filename: "La profecía (1976) [DUAL-subs-Opus].jcea.mkv"

2. Run the database update.

3. Film correctly identified as https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075005/

4. During the scanning, the GUI even shows "La profecía (1976)" as the name of the film, on screen.

5. Nevertheless, the title of the film in the database will be "The Omen (1976)", in english.

This is something new. A couple of days ago everything was working fine.

Thanks!.
Can you please update to and check with IMDb common v3.1.4?

I cannot reproduce this. Are you still having the issue?

It took a while for OSMC to catch the Kodi repository update, but I confirm that IMDb common v3.1.4 seems to have solved the issue.

Thanks a lot for solving this issue so fast. Very much appreciated.

PS: What are your plans for Kodi 18 (Leia) and the new Python scrapper technology?.

Universal Movie Scraper - olympia - 2018-11-24

Leia will still use the XML scrapers by default. Probably XML scrapers will be replaced by python scrapers in v19. As I am not a python dev, I will be out of game for those.

RE: Universal Movie Scraper - akda5id - 2018-11-26

I noticed that c07 (Year Released) in the movie table is no longer being populated. Not sure if I have something goofed in my setup, or if that field has been dropped? It happened when I went up to v18 beta 3, and I was coming from v16, so it's been a while Smile

RE: Universal Movie Scraper - scudlee - 2018-11-26

The "year" field (c07) has been largely superseded by the "premiered" field, which also includes the month and day, and so allows for more accurate sorting in movie views.

Cool, figured it was something like that. Just couldn't find any documentation of such. Strange that c07 is still in movie_view then, would be nice to declutter it to reduce confusion . . .

Poster is missing for Braveheart - HanSolo72 - 2018-12-05

Hi,

I get no poster with UMS for the movie "Braveheart (1995)". Here is my log, just search for braveheart. http://paste.kodi.tv/rasipameda

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I turned off fanart.tv in the Scrapper settings and now it works.

RE: Universal Movie Scraper - HeresJohnny - 2018-12-06

There seems to be a certificate problem with fanart.tv.

RE: Universal Movie Scraper - mosley93 - 2019-01-14

@olympia Could you please add the feature to Universal Movie Scraper to download those posters from fanart.tv that have language set to NONE?

RE: Universal Movie Scraper - olympia - 2019-01-21

@mosley93 what would be the usecase of this?

RE: Universal Movie Scraper - mosley93 - 2019-01-21

@olympia I think it's mostly for esthetics. If you check out the fanart.tv you will see that there are many posters that look cleaner and more simplistic that way and yet they are original enough to get the idea which movie is it. Also the description and titles are show in many views in Kodi skins - so why to double it?
I don't know how it is implemented in fanart.tv api, but if we are able to select posters for many different languages I can't see a reason why it shouldn't be available to select NONE. I don't think it should become the default option, but just to let it be selectable would be awesome.

RE: Universal Movie Scraper - Karellen - 2019-01-21

I think you are referring to Keyart images - posters without text?
