RE: [Release] Universal Movie Scraper - perevers - 2013-09-09

Thanks a lot both of you got it working now.
I have one extra question: I have one movie that the scraper will not accept. I have copy/pasted the name from imdb, so it should be the right name, but still no luck adding it to my movie library.
The movie is this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0036326/
If anyone could tell me how to successful add it to my library it would be much appreciated.

You can try naming the file Saludos Amigos (1942).extension. (Leave out the word "Short"). Or you can create an NFO file for the movie http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=NFO_files and just paste in the same link you posted above. Personally I would try changing the file name first.

Have you tried adding the video manually? Home menu -> videos -> Files -> <video-source> Search to the missing movie, and then refresh it's content.

Good evening Per,

It seems there is indeed an issue with this movie in IMDB. Having the scraper search on TMDB gives immediate positive results though and I have tested it to work. I have identify 2 solutions that work:

1) Put this movie in a new directory and add that directory as a source in XBMC. Have this new source scraped by TMDB or Universal Scraper set to use TMDB search. This way you can have an alternative source which scraper will look at TMDB, and it will be always ready for you to through into it those movies that don't get satisfactory result with IMDB.

2) As others have suggested, place a NFO file which name matches the name of the movie file. So within the movie folder you will have 'Saludos Amigos (1942).ext' and a NFO file called 'Saudos Amigos (1942).nfo'. Update the library and select 'Get Artwork' from within movie 'Information', so you can get the poster and fanart that suit you best.

I have made available a NFO of this movie for you here (right-click and select save linked file to downloads)

You mentioned you want all your movies named in Danish, so if that is the case also for this one, just open the NFO file and identify the line <title>Saludos Amigos</title>. Replace 'Saludos Amigos' with the Danish title, save the new NFO and place it in the movie folder and proceed to update the library or simply refresh the movie info using the local NFO if you have already updated.

Now you know how to resolve this little issues next time you run into them. Hope it works.

RE: [Release] Universal Movie Scraper - scudlee - 2013-09-09

The reason the film doesn't show up is because the Universal scraper excludes short films from its search results by default.

You can, however, change that in the settings under the "Search" tab (which may not be immediately visible - just keep going right on the tabs).
The specific setting is "Include All Movie Categories".

Alternatively, you can switch to using themoviedb.org as the search engine to use from that tab.

(And of course, remember to make the changes at the source folder.)

Hi Scudlee,

It does work right away using "Include all movie categories" as you mentioned.

Bravo!

RE: [Release] Universal Movie Scraper - Rourke - 2013-09-16

I have Plot source set to TMBb with the language set to Dutch (nl). Yet it indexes all movies with an english plot. Even for movies where I can confirm it has a dutch plot on TMDb. How is this possible?

Did you set the language to Dutch when you added the video source? That's the mistake I made with mine. Didn't realize that changing the settings for the addon doesn't change settings for sources that already exist.

RE: [Release] Universal Movie Scraper - tinybutstrong - 2013-09-20

I need help..

For the first time I'm adding to my library a new movie (Music video) not listed on IMDB, but it has an entry on TMDB. Tried some times, the scraper doesn't download the poster/fanart, the title and all other fields are blank.

Here's a debug log after to try reloading the movie: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=60569

The item in question: http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/68177-paula-fernandes-ao-vivo

If need any additional info let me know.

RE: [Release] Universal Movie Scraper - capfuturo - 2013-09-20

Good evening tinybutstrong,

This has nothing to do with UMS but to the way the movies are named in each IMDB and TMDB, and whether there is an IMDB ID present in TMDB linking both data bases for this particular movie.

I had a look at your debug log and basically the scraper finds the movie within IMDB here: http://m.imdb.com/title/tt2014315/ with a different name than the one it appears with in the TMDB. You can see that data such as actors and whatever plot present in IMDB does get scraped. UMS then tries to scrape the TMDB based on the IMDB found earlier (which it is actually already cached) and since this this ID is not present yet in the TMDB and the names for the movies do not match, there is no way UMS can find the movie within TMDB.

Please go to TMDB page for this movie and add the IMDB ID (tt2014315) for it so this page will successfully be scrapped using your actual UMS configuration. You will be doing yourself and many other users a favour. Mind that it takes a few hours for any new info to be scrapped successfully. Remember to refresh your movie afterwards. Alternatively you can set the scraper to use TMDB for this particular movie (set as a source) and refresh.

Have a good evening!

RE: [Release] Universal Movie Scraper - n1md4 - 2013-09-20

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there is a dedicated scraper for music videos using theaudiodb ... ? Add a source, then select the scraper; it should be in there, no? Not to say that it will cue your problem, but it makes sense to scrape music video artwork from a music site Smile Just a suggestion.

RE: [Release] Universal Movie Scraper - tinybutstrong - 2013-09-21

@capfuturo, thanks man, it has an IMDB entry as well. I fixed the info. How I missed that! hehehe Tongue

@n1md4 I just prefer TMDB, more reliable info IMO.
