Guide To sharing HDD on AP EXTREME and ATV - fariswheel - 2012-04-27 03:15 I had an issue last time sharing my Attached HDD on my Airport Extreme with my apple tv and i saw a bunch of people how they did it but it Didnt work for me So i am going ahead and sharing my guide which i think is so simple and work like smooth like butter. 1- HDD i have it formatted to HFS+ but it work for me with NTFS 2- when u attach the HDD to the extreme and share - Airport Extreme creates a New folder called "SHARED" 2a- and if u create a user it will create another folder with that username. so i kept it simple. Guest access enabled on the sharing of my HDD in airport extreme DISK settings. 3- i put everything from Movies, TV shoes, Documentary, Pictures inside the shared folder 4- IN XBMC go to video , Select Add Video or Video Source, Select browse, then scroll down to Zero configuration browser 5- select the device or Airport extreme Name, in Either AFP or SAMBA ( i selected AFP ) 6 - Hit OK 7- Select CONTENT of folder 8- Let XBMC scan folder 9- Repeat for TV shows or Music, etc. 10 - ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope this worked for every one let me know if u have any issues and i would be more than glade to help out. p.s. i am using - Airport extreme 5th gen Apple tv 2 - 5.0 IOS - airport Utility used it Under windows for more Options - Seagate Ultra portable 1.5TB on airport extreme HFS+ format - WD Desktop harddrive 2.5TB on airport extreme NTFS format |
