"Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - StinDaWg - 2012-06-02 I have xbmc set up to retrieve new data on startup, hide library updates, and advancedsettings clean database on update. Up until recently this all happened seamless, I never got any on screen messages which is the way I want it. However, in the recent nightlies after xbmc finishes cleaning the database I get a pop up message on the screen that says "cleaning database, this may take a few moments" or something to that affect, an then the slider goes from 0-100%. I don't want this to happen in the middle of playing a video. Did something change recently and how do I go about turning off this message now? RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - jmarshall - 2012-06-02 Could be a recent change, yeah. Please post a bug report on trac with details as you've done here. A Debug Log should show the dialog popping up (search for "Init"). cc vdrfan RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - StinDaWg - 2012-06-03 Entire log: http://pastebin.com/qiDqyH6K Perhaps this is the part you're looking for? 20:18:38 T:4152 NOTICE: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Starting videodatabase cleanup .. 20:18:38 T:4152 INFO: Loading skin file: DialogProgress.xml 20:18:38 T:4152 DEBUG: DialogProgress::StartModal called 20:18:38 T:4152 DEBUG: ------ Window Init (DialogProgress.xml) ------ 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning files table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning streamdetails table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning bookmark table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning settings table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning stacktimes table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning paths that don't exist and have content set... 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning tvshow table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning actorlinktvshow table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning directorlinktvshow table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning tvshowlinkpath table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning genrelinktvshow table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning seasons table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning movielinktvshow table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning path table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning genre table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning country table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning actor table of actors, directors and writers 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning studio table 20:18:39 T:4152 DEBUG: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning set table 20:18:39 T:4152 NOTICE: CVideoDatabase::CleanDatabase: Cleaning videodatabase done. I know trac is some kind of bug reporting site for xbmc but never used it before. RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - StinDaWg - 2012-07-14 Just wanted to let you know, this problem has not been fixed yet. Still using Eden full time because the pop up messages are a deal breaker. RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - StinDaWg - 2012-08-16 Still present in latest nightlies, I'm hoping this is at least fixed before Frodo final hits? RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - HenryFord - 2012-08-16 Did you post a bug-report on trac? Frodo is still in developement, so you shouldn't expect too fast bug-fixing, because the devs have their workload full. If the bug is being recognized it will get fixed before a final hits. If you didn't post a bug-report yet, you can do so with the help of this how-to: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=HOW-TO_Submit_a_Proper_Bug_Report RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - StinDaWg - 2012-11-05 Still isn't fixed in Alpha 7. RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - jmarshall - 2012-11-06 Is there a bug report on trac? We don't remember months old forum topics trac.xbmc.org RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - StinDaWg - 2012-11-14 http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/13547 RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - xconverge - 2012-11-14 Just wanted to comment that this has been bugging me for a few months as well, I have seen this post but never did my part to help file a bug or anything. If you need anything else to get this resolved let me know and I can help out. RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - RXP91 - 2012-12-27 I'm still getting this in RC2, I've got library updates hidden but whenever a clean occurs it pops up on screen. I wouldn't mind if it was just like the library updating notification where it disappears when you are playing a video and you can browse about XBMC normally. But it's an intrusive popup that prevents you from moving about XBMC or watching a video. RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - StinDaWg - 2017-03-14 5 years later and this issue still persists on V17. RE: "Cleaning database" message pops up in nightly - beeswax - 2017-03-14 Your original trac ticket got closed with a status of 'Fixed' so the developers thought it was solved. Looking at the code changes, they added a new variable that determines if progress should be shown or not which makes sense but my coding skill is not good enough to tell why that new logic doesn't work. I think it would be best to create a new ticket because of the age of the old one. Any maybe don't wait 5 years to mention the fix doesn't work next time :p |
