Syncing libraries over internet using web host - vin047 - 2012-06-03

I have been trying to set up a library sync over the internet as opposed to just a local sync, wondering if anyone has any experience with this sort of thing?

I have a shared hosting with hostgator and since it includes and can access mysql remotely, I thought it might be possible.

I hear that such setups are painfully slow.

You could use something like sugarsync and sync the userdata folder. It would take some time the first time and if you do wholesale changes to the database and thumbnails but other than that the libraries would be kept in sync reasonably quickly. Might be some sort of access issue though.
