Hi
I have an server with ubunbtu and plex media server installed, and a iMac with plex and this setup works perfectly.
What is the best way to stream video's from my ubuntu server to my laptop with XBMC (by using SMB, or something else)
Maybe it is possible to use plex media server to stream to xbmc?

Probably easiest to use SMB. You can try the PleXBMC (wiki) add-on, though. I haven't tried it, but I hear it's a pretty good mash up of the two systems.
