Hi guys Smile,

sorry if I am boring with my questions just need to be shore before making another transition.

I swiched from win to openelec - that did not go so well Sad

I would like to give XBMCbuntu a try - really don't wona go back to win, but i have to
be shore that I (who knows almost nothing abut linux) can do somethings with XBMCbuntu.

Few things that I can imagine my life without are: SABnzbd+, Sickbeard and Couchpotato.

for me win install is prety starte forward - no problems. Smile
openelec - they come as package in an addon - but needed some modification to be
dun afterwords. Sad

What is situation in xbmcbuntu - how can I install them (is it hard?)Huh

Tried searching but did not find answers.

Recommend that you run those on your Media Server (I run those on my win7 machine)
but here is the Sickbeard installation straight from their website (recommended that you go to their individual websites, they all have linux install)

To check if it is installed just type "python -V" in a terminal window

In the unlikely event it's not already installed you can simply install it with your OSes package manager.
Install cheetah

Use your package manager: sudo apt-get install python-cheetah

Or install from source:
wget http://pypi.python.org/packages/source/C/Cheetah/Cheetah-2.4.4.tar.gz
tar -zxvf Cheetah-2.4.4.tar.gz
cd Cheetah-2.4.4
sudo python setup.py install
Retrieve the Sick Beard source

If you have git installed (use "git --version" to check):
git clone git://github.com/midgetspy/Sick-Beard.git my-sickbeard-install
If not:
wget --no-check-certificate https://github.com/midgetspy/Sick-Beard/tarball/master
tar -xzvf midgetspy-Sick-Beard-xxxxxx.tar.gz (the xxxxxx part will be different for every download)
mv midgetspy-Sick-Beard-xxxxxx my-sickbeard-install
Start Sick Beard
cd my-sickbeard-install
python SickBeard.py

How to make Sick Beard start on boot differs for every OS, check the guides on the right of this page or try the forums if you're having trouble.

I have only two machines at home - old laptop and xbmc machine - so i must install them on htpc machine

I think this could prove to be tomuch for me I am afraid :/

The best tutorials I've ever found for those can be found here: http://www.ainer.org/
I've had to install those three a few times, and I still use it as a reference. Just log out of XBMC and into the desktop environment and follow the guides.

Oh, was not aware that xbmcbuntu has desktop environment - that is a big +

OK those tutorials are really grate.

I was able to install SAB+ no probles.

I installed Sickberad to - no problems,
but I can't get it to start.

I guess it is cause Sickbeard I installed is in different folder than in guide

it is in /xbmc/my-sickbeard-install

I could use some help with auto start Sad

Lashi script is best to install all this stuff. Search forum for same.

just made .sickbeard folder and moved everything from my-sickbeard-install folder

everything working 10+
