RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.12 - Mossy - 2013-06-07

Code:
01:34:15 T:2756703328   ERROR: FALLBACK None : 'u'HTTPError: HTTP Error 502: Proxy Error''

There's a problem with ps3.channel4.com via your proxy.

What happens when you try to watch a video on http://ps3.channel4.com in a browser via that proxy?

RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.12 - mjb1 - 2013-06-07

It either plays the video or says "The connection has timed out. Please try again". If I continue selecting the same video to watch it will always play on one of the attempts but this will occur randomly like its waiting for the right stream source, if I am lucky it plays on the first attempt but it can take up to 4 or 5 attempts to get a play but, this is exactly what was happening using the xbmc/4oD addon before it started permanently reporting "cannot show categories", in xbmc/4oD each failed attempt timed out without any error message, if I kept selecting the same programme it would play as mentioned.

I don't know if this is relevant either but the first thing I had to do to select anything on the website was accept and close the cookie message.

Try using the alternative port 443: Settings | Advanced | Use alternative RTMP port: 443

RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.12 - mjb1 - 2013-06-09

The problem was the setting 'use an http proxy server to access the internet', had been enabled in the general system settings aswell as the proxy setting in the 4oD addon, having both these points enabled causes the cannot show categories error, now its working great again, thanks for your time on this.

RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.12 - japher - 2013-06-12

Is anyone else experiencing a bar of distortion occupying 10-15% of the bottom of the screen when using this plugin? I've tried 2.0.12 and 3.0.12. Every stream has a pixelated, mostly greenish, flickering bar along the bottom of the screen.

I'm using a ZBox HD-ID11 with Nvidia ION graphics and Ubuntu 12.04.2.

Here's a debug log (output when I play a stream): http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=YECNh6cJ

sevenofone described the same symptoms on an Android device, in a recent post.

If you download an episode and then play it back what does it look like? In Settings you'll need to
  • In General change Default action on select to Download or Ask
  • In Downloads set the download path and the path to rtmpdump. You'll need to install rtmpdump first, though

It would be useful to know if you get the same problem with the latest version of librtmp, see the wiki for more info, in particular have a look at the librtmp thread..

RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.12 - MMeirolas - 2013-06-17

tried everything but nothing seems to help.

installed latest rtmpdump. latest rtmplib file
u.s.a proxy which works on hulu but still no luck.
tried different setting as ppl were instructed to do in this thread. still nothing.
always getting that xml parser message.

i'm using version 12 (frodo) on windows vista btw.
could someone please help me?

thx in advance

A debug log is always a good start.

Is this now broken? Worked fine yesterday now it can't get a category listing. 3.0.12 on an Apple TV.

The PS3 URL just says now that it has been updated and to delete the 4OD app.

I reported the same thing a few weeks ago. Distortion at bottom of stream. I am also getting the same on the ITV player addon. I thought it was the combination of my hardware/build which is a gbox running the j1nx Linux build. I can't seem to find an answer, but if I do I will message you if you could do the same?

Same here. Getting HTTP404 errors trying to connect to http://ps3.channel4.com/pmlsd/tags.json?platform=ps3&uid=%d

Never tried to use this before.

I have xbmc on three different operating systems, window 8, windows 7 and Linux, 4oD does not work on all three.
