slooooow xbmc - vee10 - 2012-06-20

Hi there,

Hope someone can help with this problem.

I recently changed my main xbmc to xbmcbuntu, installed mysql server and am now sharing my database with 2 ATV units and a laptop.

It all worked perfect for about 2 days then I don't know what changed but it has just gone very slow ...

Have a quick look at this to see what i mean HERE

You can see it takes 20 seconds just to pass the xbmc startup logo ! .. Is there a way I can see whats causing this ?

Thanks for any help.

The log file generated up until the main (home) screen is load is posted here

Disable sharing of the libraries and it goes away, right? Thus, you know the problem. IIRC there's some reverse DNS issue with mysql clients or some such that causes these symptoms - search the forums here.

In your my.cnf file (/etc/mysql/my.cnf) add skip-name-resolve under the mysqld section.
