HP IR receiver woes - careyc - 2012-06-27
So I purchased an HP IR receiver (OVU400102/71) to work with my Harmony 700 and I can't seem to get it to work with my HTPC which is running Win XP 64 bit w/ SP 2. I spent several hours hours searching these forums, avsforums, and google and can't seem to find drivers that will work. I did eventually find drivers (I believe they were meant for Vista) and got them installed but they are failing to load and I got an exclamation mark next to the device in my device manager. I know the device works because I connected it to desktop which is running 32 bit XP and was able to install the drivers that I found online. Has anyone gotten this device to work on XP 64 bit?
I could downgrade to 32 bit XP but I'm trying to avoid that because I have more then 4 GB of RAM.

Try xbmccustomregis.sourceforge.net. Worked really well for me with a HP MCE remote.
