Controlling XBMC via keyboard while minimized? - fernando98 - 2012-07-15
Hi everyone,
I downloaded and installed XBMC for Windows 7 yesterday and I am pretty much enjoying it, the only feature I miss is being able to control the music player (pause/play, skip) with my keyboard (Fn + F8, F9, F10) while XBMC is minimized as I'd do with any other music player. Those shortcuts work for me but only when XBMC is on the foreground. Is there any way to get them to work on the background?

You can do that by using eventghost.

Once a task in windows has been minimized, the focus moves to the desktop or next task. Music pause and volume +/- can still be used through window control systems, multimedia keyboards or custom input devices. I suspect that controlling XBMC through http would work, as even in minimized mode an update or clean is possible.
