720p movies look bad on my 1080p display - jdgower - 2012-07-27 I have 2 TV's hooked up sharing media. One TV is 720p and the other is 1080p.... When I play a 720p video on the 720p TV it looks great, but on the 1080p TV is looks awful. I think I understand why this is, but the question is how do I fix it? I'd prefer not to re-rip them because for me size is going to be an issue, so I was hoping to get the 720p working except without all of the grain/blocks. What is the best way to handle this? Does XBMC have a way to change my TV's resolution to 720p? Would that even help? Thanks, Jeremy RE: 720p movies look bad on my 1080p display - clubwerks - 2012-07-28 It must be something in your settings because I have a 1080p and before that I had a 73" 1080p Mitsubishi and 720p material looks/looked fine on both. Every TV show is 720p and I have a few movies that are 720p and you'd need a pretty good eye to pick out the difference. |
