back up and restore question - brrider - 2012-08-01
Good Day to all xmbc I am a newbe to the form so all I ask is be a little easy on me. I have it up and running and all is well and I would like to keep it that way. I am trying to use back up so I can install on another computer. I went to navix and activated back up and when I go to back up it says remote can not be empty. I have never done this so its all a big learning for me. Can any one guide me or explain in lay man term to back up my system and down load and install back up of my fresh install of xmbc?

Try the backup add-on.

Thank you for the quick reply however I did install that add on but when I go to back up it gives me a screen that says remote can not be empty

What exactly do you want to back up?
Your library? Make sure to read about using the exact same path for media OR exporting as separate files.
Or your skin, art and gui settings ect?
That can all be found in the following folder:
C:\Users\COMPUTER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\XBMC
If both installs are the same version you can just copy the good settings over the new install.
I could not find any info on the error you mentioned.
