TrueHD/DTS-HD Settings not available in XBMC 11.0 - Zapata - 2012-08-14

Just searched the forums but can't find the ansver.

I recently upgraded my XBMCUbuntu to XBMC 11.0 (March24 2012) but there are no settings for HD Audio under Settings>System>Audio Output.

Am i missing something here?

Yes - the fact that 11.0 doesn't have HD Audio support.

if your hardware is as in your sig, it won't work anyway. ION1 does not support it.

So is there another solution for those of us using an ION1 device?

well, not if you want HD audio passthrough. But Audio Engine will reencode audio to (sourround) AC3 or analog stereo, so at least you can play it.

just unselect TrueHD and DTS MA capable receiver.

My ASUS AT5IONT is Second gen so it should work.

Thanks for this, I basically just want to play it. I will think about upgrading to a newer device in a year or so, once things with this settle down. I appreciate your response!
