Should I go with SSD 64GB for OS? - embedded - 2012-08-28
These are the parts I've ordered so far:

AMD A6-3500 3x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz HD6530D FM1
ASRock A75M-ITX FM1 CIR USB3.0 SATAIII UEFI mITx
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev.B
Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARX 2TB 64MB
Silverstone ML03B
SilenX EFX-08-12 80mm Case Fan x 2
Silverstone Strider 400
Now I was thinking to get a Crucial 64GB SSD drive for Win7 Pro and for XBMC.
I know that I would boost loading time and read\write disk access (I have the Crucial 128 GB SSD on my laptop and I just love this little thing)
Would this boost be visible for daily use?
Is it fine to use sleep with SSD drive?

64gb ssd should be enough for win7. and wake from s3 is like instant on

S3 = Standby, Sleep or Suspend to RAM. The system uses minimum power to keep RAM "alive", so it is not completely powered-off.

Thanks for the clarification.
Sleep is what I need since the HTPC will act as usenet download machine as well.
So you guys recommend getting SSD for OS and programs and use the WD 2TB for video/pictures.
XBMC is a heavy program which relays on disk access?

You can't really go wrong putting an SSD into an HTPC Build. The massive increase in I/O will benefit you in enough ways to make it worth the price. As your data drive is going to be a Caviar Green, the SSD will be better for your OS Install and core applications.

does anyone know if the Silverstone ML3B case would handle 1 SSD 2.5" 1 HDD 3.5" and 1 HDD 2.5"?

for the price of a 64gb ssd you can usually purchase a 120gb ssd on sale for the same. Around $50-80 may only be a few dollars more for double the space, just a consideration. I purchased my 120gb ssd for $58.

Yes,..the SilverStone Aluminum/Steel Micro ATX Media Center/HTPC Case ML03B (Black) is capable of holding those drives. In fact, that's one reason I brought this case myself.

+1. Price/GB the 120GB really makes a lot more sense at the moment.
I was initially planning on a 60/64GB for my build but ended up going for a 120GB for not much more.

I love it,..but more importantly,..my family loves it!
My son uses the Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate Edition,..while I personally love the IOGEAR Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel, 2.4GHz Wireless GKM561R (Black)

I agree,..if the prices within $20 + or - I'd get the larger SSD.
One consideration though,...if other family members will use this,..make sure they know that they should never install anything to the SSD.
It can be easy to choose the default drive.
