Choosing new hardware 1080p capable - fuffa - 2012-09-03

I have the asus eee box b204 with XBMCBuntu EDEN (my first choice) and win xp installed, my brother "trow it away" and I take it to make some test with xbmc.

After few tests I assume that it's not able to play 1080p videos, it runs some 720p well but not all…
Linux and Win offers the same performance, i try also vlc.
I flagged the "hardware acceleration options" on linux, nothing changed
Suggestion...?

So I'm thinking about to buy a new hardware, what do you think about the Asus EeeBox PC EB1501P http://www.asus.com/Eee/EeeBox_PC/EeeBox_PC_EB1501P/ ?

I heard about the good quality of the Zotac products, can someone suggest me a good model?

Off course I also think to build my own hardware but i really need help to choose the right component.

Can someone help me please?

I REALLY LOVE XBMC!!!!!!!!!!! Smile)

Try running the generic build of openelec (latest beta) on your eeebox and see how it works, you might be able to get some life out of that hardware.
