Dolby 7.1 works but no DTS - shnabz - 2012-09-10
I have an external firewire soundcard with 8 outs, 24 bit 96k, set up in windows as 7.1, all works fine in the control panel, sound going through all channels. When i play a 7.1 dolby truehd, it works fine, all 8 channels, but when using DTS HD MA i get weird results. If its 5.1, i get ch 1,2,3,4,7,8 but no 5,6, effectively its 5.1 not 7.1. I have analogue set in the settings

there is no free dtshd decoder. you have to use passthrough or you only get the core stream.
