Movies and TV Shows on Root Menu - jaja714 - 2012-09-27
I just upgraded to Eden. I have all of my Movies and TV Shows loaded into my Video database. I also have the content set respectively.
From the XBMC Root Menu, when I go into the Video main menu tree, I see the Movie and TV Show sub-folders, Within those sub-folders I see all of my content. However, my options in the Video main menu tree are "limited" ... no "info" menu, limited sort options, no fanart, etc...
From the XBMC Root Menu, there are two sub-menus called Movies and TV Shows where I used to be able to go and really see everything I want. However, both of these menus are virtually empty showing only "Files", "Playlists", and "Video Add-Ons".
How do I get the XBMC Root Menu Movie and TV Show menu options to work the way they used to?

In files view (Video main menu), do your movies have posters / fanart? To indicate that they are in fact, in the library.
Because where you are seeing only "Files", "Playlists", and "Video Add-Ons".
You should also see library items (Movies and TV Shows).
Depending on your skin, there is also a side menu called the view sidebar. http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Video_library
That might be set to display your library only as files.

Double-check to confirm those folders are still defined as sources in XBMC and that, on their respective "Set content" pages, they are specified as "Movies" or "TV shows" directories with the appropriate scrapers assigned to them.
RE: Movies and TV Shows on Root Menu - jaja714 - 2012-09-27
I think I clearly stated in the 1st sentence of my original post that my folders are defined as sources and, yes, content is set correctly. Otherwise, nothing would be in "XBMC->Videos->Movies", right?
When I go into "XBMC->Videos->Movies", I see all my movies. The view is set to "Fanart" and, as I scroll through the movies, a picture of the movie appears on a dvd jewel box in the bottom left corner. However, no fanart appears covering the screen. Only popcorn.
When I go into "XBMC->Movies", I see no movies. I used to be able to see all my movies here with the dvd jewel in the lower left corner and the fanart covering the screen. However, I now see none of that. I only see three options "Files" (which points to "XBMC->Videos"), "Playlists", and "Video Add-ons".
This reminds me of the old XBMC where you could be in "File Mode" or "Library Mode" but I read that Eden got rid of that.

Not necessarily. You could have defined your source, built your library from that source and, subsequently, removed that source definition (whether intentionally or not) and your library would still be intact.

After double-checking, sources and content are defined properly.
When I go into XBMC->Videos->Movies, I see all my movies. The view is set to Fanart and, as I scroll through the movies, a picture of the movie appears on a dvd jewel box in the bottom left corner. However, no fanart appears covering the screen. Only popcorn.

- Files (which points to XBMC->Videos)
- Playlists
- Video Add-ons

Anyone? Is this not as simple as I thought? How did I mess all this up? Hello?
RE: Movies and TV Shows on Root Menu - Ned Scott - 2012-09-30
Have you scanned the videos into the library? Adding videos to the library (wiki)

Could you post a full debug log?
And maybe try a different skin?
