Movie Library - All movies in one Folder - mmascosta - 2012-10-15

Hi!

Previously to having my XBMC HTPC, I had a small media center that handled films much better if they were all in the same folder. So that's how I have them.

Is the any way to automatically change this to a structure where all films have their own folder?

Thanks!!

Try one of the media managers - like Ember, or Media companion. Or TheRenamer. These can automate the the process in one step (i believe!).

XBMC can handle them all quite well if they are in one folder. Most important is that you have your filenames rather cleaned up like:
<movie name> <year>.ext

can ofcourse be some other texts in there too like langauge, bluray or dvd.

it's up to you

Try theRenamer.com will clean up those file names... put them in a folder named the same with date... simple.
