Cant play videos through XBMC - andrewch - 2012-10-23
Hi all,
I'm re purposing an old Dell Optiplex 745 to run XBMC. The problem im having is that XBMC will start to play a video and then freeze after about 5 seconds. This happens on every video on my server no matter the quality. I have two other instances of XBMC running on the same network with no problems and I can play these videos on the Dell with VLC with no issues.
I've mucked around with the DXVA settings and they dont seem to make a difference. And I honestly wouldnt know what to use anyway.
Its a
Core 2 Duo 2ghz with 2G RAM and an old 512mb graphics card. Eden, Vista 32bit

UPDATE:
I've solved the problem. I had no audio driver installed and I guess XBMC didnt like that. I have no idea why that would cause the video to stall but everythings working now.
