Thanks,

Hi, you can try the most recent Tronsmart Prometheus firmware from this forum:
http://forum.androidgadget.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=85

As well I found they are offering different XBMC releases, and they have a build for Tronsmart Prometheus - http://forum.androidgadget.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=29
Going to test it today.

Tronsmart Prometheus firmware is compatible in mygica?
have you tried it?

cabbagehead, please, explain the android and the XBMC audio setups you are using.
I obtain only noisy sound (hdmi or optic) if I set in XBMC the following:

- Dolby digital(ac3) capable receiver (selected)
- DTS capable receiver (selected)

I tried many combinations of the android sound configuration, and always the same noisy sound.

With the 1080p firmware I still have problem: when a video played with XBMC stops, freeze the system.

What is your solution?

thanks

I agree some comentas about it is quite difficult to follow the thread because there are too many different situations and software combinations. I propose to make a collaborative document summarying our experience. The idea of this document is not solve issues (the document could be tooooo loooong),, just to summary the working overview regargind atv firmware and xbmc version.
Lets avoid information: good playing movies, because it is difficult to stablish what good means, and we will find thousands of different types of movies, codecs, sizes, etc..

Hello,

maybe someone can help me.

Today i got my ATV1200 and installed FW *130326 and XBMC *130330 which i found in the last posts.
I can access my SMB shares and also the IPTV stream from DVB-Viewer backend.

As my LED Beamer only displays 720p the 1080p issue is no issue for me and the same with my audio passtrough out via Coax cable.

The only thing i can't get running is the sync to my MySQL database. I used the advancedsettings.xml and copied into the correct location but the database won't be syncronized.
In the debug Log it seems to be ok.

==> solved after manual new install

Could please someone provide some advice.

My box would not recognize the USB drives I have so I had to download and install directly from the web. This may be easier for all of you anyhow but this is how I did it:

1) Used a web browser on the box to go to this thread and download the following links:
http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/androidtvbox/update_spi_mx_20130326.zip
http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/androidtvbox/update_MX_20130326.zip
Latest version of XMBC (at the time of this posting I used this one: http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/androidtvbox/xbmcapp-armeabi-v7a-debug-20130330.zip )

2) Then I ran the upgrade app but it did not recognize those files so I renamed the first two as .img files instead of .zip files using the app ES File Explorer. I also used that same app to unpack the XMBC apk from the zip. I left them all in the 'downloads' folder and then ran the upgrade app and followed the instructions on the first post. The files are located under /media/Downloads instead of sdcard or usb disk when you use this method.

I just started messing with this thing, will let you all know how it goes as I progress through the suggestions in this thread.

Hello,

i did update my system via a 8GB FAT32 formated USB stick, just copied the files into the root folder without renaming it and did run the update programm. Worked smooth for me.

Someone can confirm TV Shows>AniDB addon is working on ATV1200? I'm getting error message: "unable to connect to remote server" all the time.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - fitamix - 2013-04-18

There is a new firmware available Mygica:
http://www.mygica.es/firm-mygica-mx.html

I compared this with that of Geniatech update (20130326) and it seems the Mygica is based on that of Geniatech (20130326). At least that is what it seems if you looking at the build.prop file in system, which has only 3 changes (Geniatech vs. Mygica):
- const.window.w=1920 vs const.window.w=1280
- const.window.h=1080 vs const.window.h=720
- online.ip=http://www.geniatech.net/down-eng/upgrade/stvmx_1080p/ vs online.ip=http://www.geniatech.net/down-eng/upgrade/stvmx/

They change some minor preinstalled applications. Furthermore, they change Settings.apk, VideoPlayer.apk and libandroid_runtime.so.

The Mygica firmware contains the xbmc 020113 (perhaps of 20130102 Huh). And an application that can be very well: DirectoryBind (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262).

So it seems that Mygica customizing not bring big changes.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - dgcruzing - 2013-04-18

A bit more on DirectoryBind
Have already got it on the GS3 phone and had a bit of a play with it.
Just posting in to the XAF thread now about the weekend experience with screen shoots.

DB seems to be working well as I shifted the .XBMC dir and binded it..
Will post a tut over next few days as it did my head in with the instructions.
they are... to me... all back to front, but also there is no support for this as the developer has dropped ball, anyway this is how I set it up for others that are interested..

During:

also while reading came across this as well..

Solved! How to swap the internal sd storage with the external one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078603

I am thinking that this would be a better solution in the longer term as we could get 16g and 32g cards setup in these box's and really expand that internal memory but.. only as long as the card reader holds out as on the previous Geniatech box's the card-reader was a little flaky on some.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - luuktech - 2013-04-19

I am currently trying to look at how much CPU the XBMC is using when i play a 720p movie, i already enabled the Debugging. But i am wondering if there is also a possibility that i can get the filename of the video i am playing on the screen? I saw someone press some keys on the qwerty remote and the log file just showed up. Does somebody else maybe know about this?

Thanks a lot.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - jgato - 2013-04-19

I suppose for many people it seems a big difference, because it seems to support 1080p Wink Is it maybe the same but this new output mode?

I have my atv1200 connected to my onkyo amp which is capable of DTS-HD sound.
I have a 1080p 3D file which has a DTS-HD sound track.

When I try and play the file the sound is all distorted ! What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - akg4y - 2013-04-21

I installed that latest MyGica firmware which comes with XBMC pre-installed. Not sure which version or what they did to it, but it didnt work at all... froze up on basically every video for me. I uninstalled the pre-installed XBMC and installed the latest XBMC on this thread and everything is working great again.
