I moved my entire userdata folder using directorybind. Works great

Is that a Class 10 SD card? No noticeable slowdowns from when it was on internal?

Yes, class 10 card, no noticeable slowdown.

I'm trying to map my Red/Yellow/Green/Blue buttons on Samsung telly remote to keys like c/i/o/ESC so that I can pull up context menus/info etc. in xbmc. I've installed a great app from market called "multilanguage keymap remapper" and inside that it recognised the telly remote keypresses and I can map them to an Android key presses, e.g. I've set red up as:

Device:cec_input #1
ScanCode:398
KeyCode:31
KeyConst:C
IsRemapped:true
IsForced:false
[etc]

Now when I go to a text input in Android, and press red, it inputs a 'c'. But when I do the same in a textfield in xbmc, it's not recognised, in fact none of them are. Any idea what's going on?

I want to crack this as I'm 98% there towards having a fully functional (inc FF/RW) xbmc from telly remote, which as folks will realise is very important in a living room environment. ;-)

rl4engx

no solution for you im afraid. ive spent many hours trying to get to the bottom of this issue using xbmc keyboard.xml files, remote.xml files, apps (incl the one you're trying) and editing the actuala ndroid key map files.

but i haven't been able to sort it out.

the xbmc keyboard.xml basically is acting weird on android. some buttons/configs will work and some are just totally ignored. no idea why.

the fact that shift, backspace and escape don't work properly and can't be remapped in android xbmc is a pretty major flaw in the beta at the moment.

i read somewhere that a "ticket" has been raised so the devs at least know about it. fingers crossed Smile

Cheers for the reply. OK well as long as it's a known issue I'm happy with that, I've noticed a few similar keymap type issues on a few of the forums. Hopefully with all the Ouya people getting on board they'll want to start being able to use their controllers within xbmc. I'll just keep my eyes on the Pivos nightlies.

Next project: Use Xbox 360 controller and get some retro gaming going. Has anyone got this working? Is it just a case of getting an "xbox 360 wireless adapter" and some sort of USB adapter cable? Any particular makes that work ok? (I know I can use ps3 controller but I prefer the 360 one)

Yes, class 10 card, no noticeable slowdown.

Excuse me, when you say class 10, do you have a regular class 10 card, read speed of around 20mb/s and write speed of around 7mb ? or uhs-1 class 10 card read speed 70mb/s and write speed 20mb/s? i have found out about those cards recently, didnt know about them. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-Extreme-MB-SGBGB-AM/dp/B009SK57Z6 still.. i doubt atv1200 has a uhs-1 reader, it probably has a regular sd reader.

thanks

I used advancedsettings.xml to redirect the whole userdata path but that caused issues with writing back settings. Pointing to just Thumbnails worked fine though.

However using Directorybind I've managed to point the whole userdata folder to the external card and everything seems to work. £7 for 8gb class 10 card from Amazon.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - Juanjo - 2013-07-22

is this atv1200 currently doing real 1080 output or just 720 upscaled ?

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - 4grom - 2013-07-24

1080p Only the built-in "Movie player". In the other - 720p upscaling.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - 4grom - 2013-07-24

1080p test try and see...

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - Juanjo - 2013-07-24

so xbmc is not currently doing 1080? Sad

My understanding is that the hardware acceleration plays back at the resolution of the file. Hard to tell as the box outputs at 1080p regardless; due to the settings at the android level. I think 1080 looks better than 720 but perhaps it is psychosomatic.
